This HDStream Kit includes two Wireless N Powerline Access Points (AP). When plugged into the same electric circuit and paired, the APs can transmit Ethernet data signals over the electrical wiring at speeds up to 200Mbps to distances up to 300 meters! The APs are fully compatible with the HomePlug AV standard, which means that they can be used in conjunction with other HomePlug AV compliant devices, even those from other manufacturers.

By default the adapters will automatically pair with each other in an unencrypted public network called HomePlugAV. Using the built-in web-based utility, the network settings can be changed to provide data encryption on a private network. Each PowerLine network can support up to 9 PowerLine devices, though any number of PowerLine networks can co-exist on the same electric circuit. The network can be grown organically, starting with a single HDStream Kit and adding additional PowerLine adapters as needed.

In addition to wired connectivity using the RJ45 LAN port, these PowerLine Converters support Wireless N networking with speeds up to 300Mbps. They support the standard suite of security protocols and options (WEP, WPA, WPA2, 128-bit AES, etc) as well as MAC-based Wireless Access Control. Quality of Service (QoS) settings allow you to prioritize bandwidth to devices or applications that have the greatest needs, such as prioritizing bandwidth for video streaming applications. The mandatory WPS function allows you to quickly and effortlessly establish wireless connections between the PowerLine network and WPS-enabled clients.
