Note: In order to take advantage of these speeds, a PCIe Gen4 motherboard is REQUIRED. Otherwise, it will be a PCIe gen 3 speed at a max of 3300MB/s. Using a Gen 3 PCIe motherboard will enable the user to reach speeds of up to 3300 MB/s (read) and 3300 MB/s (write). NVMe PCIe extreme speeds generate excessive heat. To help dissipate the heat, Sabrent has developed a state-of-the-art heatsink using the winning combination of aluminum and copper metals. The copper is used to absorb the heat from the drive spreading it up to the grooved aluminum surface of the heatsink. This gives the heat more surface for efficient cooling, which in turn avoids thermal throttling and maximizes the performance of your drive.
