3M Keyboard Gel Wrist Rest, Black

For two years I have I used two of these wrist rests in parallel to cushion my forearms and to orient my wrists properly, which has definitely reduced wrist strain and the ensuing pain. In addition, the antimicrobial leatherette material covering the gel-filled pads does not get stinky, although it's non-breathable, meaning that on humid days it can feel a bit sticky.My main gripe with these otherwise decent wrist rests is that after exactly 2 years of everyday use, each of them began to hemorrhage the white gel material at the all-around seam where the leatherette meets and is bonded to the heavy rubber base. Gorilla tape provides only temporary relief and is uncomfortable, so that's a losing battle. Perhaps I am being unrealistic about the expected service life of these pads -- especially after 2 years.Finally, during normal use (and while the gel is still sealed in the pads) the gel tends to smoosh out and away from your pressure points, leading to a much thinner effective amount of padding during use once you've maintained your hand position for any length of time.As a result of the foregoing, I'm going to try replacing these with some memory foam pads and see how that goes.
