Overall happy, a couple of quirks, but not bad!
By Ryan l on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2012
Nice little product, good accessory to clip on to a camera bag. The cloth stores nicely in the little pouch, and is easily pulled out. The cord on the end doesn't like to pull the cloth back into the pouch, you have to kind of shove it back in with your fingers, but it's not a big deal. As part of the cloth will be exposed through the pouch, it might get a little dirty over time, so you will have to be careful not to wipe your lens with the dusty/dirty part.

Cloth too small, hard to use
By Tony F on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2011
Great idea, but poor execution. First of all the cloth is hard to get out of bag and harder to put back, even with the pull cord. Second the pull cord attaches in the very center of the cloth with a felt "button" that makes the cloth hard to use. Third, like several other reviewers, I found the cloth wasn't clean and left smudges on my glasses and cellphone screen. I'd suggest the cloth needs to be bigger and attached at a corner or along an edge so the whole cloth can be used. Back to the drawing board, Carson.

Great Design, Poor Follow-Through

Hey Guys. This product is pretty cool in that you can just strap it onto the outside of your camera bag or through it where ever and its all packed into itself. The only problem is that it leaves a horrible whitish film on everything. Was cleaning a $900 lens and it was fine than BAM!, crazy bad streaks and nastyness on the lens. Bad day. I still use it for my really cheap sunglasses but thats about it. Not sure if its something through their manufacturing process when the cloth is treated or what. Again, awesome design, poor follow-through. (Took a long time to get the stuff off my lens but its back to normal now, thankfully)

I bought several of these to stash in my briefcase, glove box, back pack etc. great little gift too. They work very will with a lens cleaning solution as well as by themselves. The pocket at once allows them to dry after use and keeps the cloth from getting soiled while in with other stuff. I did not experience any of the problems some other reviewers had
Fatal flaw: cloth does not fully retract

The construction is good and the cloth seems to be reasonable quality. Since the cloth does not fully retract (as far as I can tell), it accumulates particles and grime, defeating its main purpose. I had much better luck with the cleaning pens or a simple microfiber cloth in a ziploc in my camera bag.
Nice idea, poor product

I purchased this product based on the reviews and received it in a timely manner (Prime member). The concept is great, pull the cloth out, use, then pull on the drawstring to tuck it away back into its holding compartment. When I received the lens cloth in the mail, I had to clean it first because the cloth had multiple (20+) black fibers covering it. It looked like someone had shaved their face and put their cuttings on the cloth and pulled it back into the bag. Not a good first impression. After this issue, I began to use it to clear dust off my filters. After a few days use it seemed to do the job well and I was satisfied. Then today I used the cloth to clear off some dust and it left a smudge right on the filter. I can't get this smudge off now and when I closely inspected the cloth, they was a sticky residue on the backside; I must have missed this before. This cloth has always been put back into its bag and stored in my brand-new (clean) camera bag, so I know I didn't set the cloth in something. Now my B+W filter is ruined, luckily its a 52mm filter so it's not too expensive. I am just glad I never had to use this on the actual lens. This cloth is now in the garbage and won't be found near my filters/lenses again.
Portable....great for cameras and iPads

The portability and compact design works. I felt like the cloth could be a little bigger (we use it on our iPads, but I have used it on my Nikon DSLR). I ordered two and neither had any noticeable odors. Overall, very satisfied and would order again. Pros: portable, compact, affordable Cons: maybe just a wee bit larger for iPads....perhaps a Carson Stuff-It XL (carson, please send me royalties for my idea)
These are great to keep around everywhere!

I've gotten a few of these and several people after seeing mine have purchased them as well. I keep one in my office and home office, one in my laptop bag, and one in my camera bag. That way I never have an excuse (lazy) to get and use a good quality cloth. Wiping with things like cotton WILL scratch lenses. I trust these to clean my 1500$ in camera equipment when I'm out in the field, or clean my 300$ glasses. For the cost of a few bucks, it is well worth it. It's hard to tell if you haven't seen one but the quality and thickness of the microfiber is actually quite impressive! It does not seem like a cheap microfiber one would normally expect to get for only a few bucks. And what makes it even better is its "stuff" sack. Keeps a lot of unwanted debris off the cloth so when you go to grab it its ready to wipe down whatever you got. It's clip and it's draw string make it easily attachable to a lot of things, very versatile. I highly recommend!
Left major smudge mark on lens

Bought this lens cleaning cloth in bag a couple of months ago. This is the first time I used it and it was used on my Canon 70 - 200 mm f.40 lens. To my utter dismay, it left a bad white smudge mark on the lens. Seems that the cloth had some "funk" on it in various places. I had to resort to lens cleaning paper and Windex to clean my lens (I do not recommend this) and lots of rubbing as computer screen cleaner did nothing to remove the smudge mark. I finally was able to remove the marks after about 10 minutes of determined scrubbing. Had I not been able to remove the smudge marks, I would have had to pitch my most trasured lens. That is how bad it was. Instead, I threw the Carson lens cleaning cloth in the trash. Buy this product if you wish (it is a great concept) but don't say you have'nt been warned. Oh, and the only reason that I gave it one star is because one must give it a star in order to rate the item. In reality, it deserves an overall rating of zero - remember, this item ended up in the trash after its first use. JWW
Too small, bulky and awkward to use.

I am a woman with big hands and this is too small for me to get a grip on. When I am cleaning my camera lens my finger always pops out and smudges my lens with my fingerprint because I cannot get a good enough grip on it. It is bulky and awkward to use. It is a good concept and the actual cloth cleans very well...but if you have bigger hands...not a good fit.
