Excellent value, very comfortable

I love this headset. I have spent over 12 hours a day wearing it and it never gets uncomfortable even though I wear glasses. It does not block out external sound, which means I can listen to my game on the computer speakers and talk to my friends on Ventrilo or Teamspeak on the headset with no problems at all. The sound is perfectly good as far as I'm concerned, although I will admit to not being an audiophile and therefore perhaps not the best judge. I do know that the first time I put these on and was listening to my game on them, I was amazed at the environmental sounds I heard that I'd never heard before. I love these so much that this is the second set I've purchased, which leads me to the one con I've found. The mini-usb port for connecting these to the charger (laptop or any other usb charger) seems a little fragile, more so than any other mini-usb connector I've used (dozens). The connector on the first headset finally got to the point where it only charged if the cord was angled a bit - which wasn't too big a deal when I wasn't wearing them, but got problematic when I wanted to wear them and charge them at the same time. I'm trying to be more careful when plugging in the new set to avoid the issue in the future. The first set worked for about 2 years with no other issues, and as far as I can tell, there are no changes between the original set and this new one. These can be used while plugged in and charging, which was a huge part of the reason I bought these in the first place. Many other wireless headsets cannot be used while charging - dumb design if you ask me. The battery life from fully charged to depleted and making warning noises (annoying enough that I plug it in immediately) is somewhere around 4-5 hours. I use the little usb nano receiver instead of bluetooth, and I get great range if I wander away to the kitchen but want to keep listening/talking, at least as good as standard bluetooth (the specs say 12m, but I think I've gone further). The mute button on the right earpiece is very convenient and easy to get to and has a little raised bump so it is easy to find with your fingertips. I never have anyone complain about the sound quality of my voice, so I have to assume the microphone is a decent one. The only "issue" with the microphone is that while on Ventrilo, I have to set the sensitivity to a very small number (1-3) to trigger it on voice-activated. Once set properly, however, I've had no issues. Once very clever feature is that the little usb nano receiver has a handy storage place in the left earpiece, so that you won't lose it if you are using the headset on bluetooth instead of radio. Note that this is NOT a Logitech universal dongle, so if you have a Logitech wireless keyboard, mouse, or other device that uses their universal dongle, you will still need this one plugged in to use it in radio mode. I've never used the headset with a mobile phone, so I don't know how well they do or do not work with phones on bluetooth, but I don't imagine this is a good headset to use if you are in a noisy environment (other than your game, of course!), as it does not block out other noise at all. In summary, this is a great headset except for the charging connection, and that can be managed easily enough if you are careful when plugging it in. I'm very pleased with it and recommend it highly.

Good wireless headset
By DJK on Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2011
I bought this headset so that I could watch video on my laptop in the family room without having to be tied down in one spot. I find watching video with a wired headset very confining. I have tried a number of wireless headsets and none of them are perfect. This one, however, is turning out to be my favorite so far. I haven't really used the microphone yet so I cannot review that feature, although it does come with a mic and my laptop knows it's there. Pros: Easy to install: it just requires a USB port. On first use, the drivers install themselves automatically and within a minute or two it's ready to go. Good sound: This headset had pretty good sound, although it is not suitable for listening to music, especially not if you are an audiophile. My (wired) Bose headset blows the socks off of this one for music. (For video I personally don't care as much.) Easy to recharge: It uses a (second) USB port when recharging, and if you want to you can still use the headset while it's charging. (You're not particularly wireless at this point however.) Theoretically, one could even recharge from the wall with the proper wall-to-USB adapter (I have several from other gadgets) but I haven't tried this yet, as I find it easier to find an available USB port than an available electrical outlet. Cons: There is no automatic shutoff when you are not using it, and because the controls are kind of whacky you will find yourself leaving it turned on accidentally. Luckily, you can use it while it's recharging (see above) but it's still a big disappointment to sit down to watch something awesome, only to find your headset has been on all day and is now out of juice. The controls are kind of whacky. It has controls on the earpiece for volume, pausing, etc. Only pausing and restarting seems to work; the volume controls have no effect. Also, when you turn it on, there is a significant lag before it starts to work. Or maybe you flicked the wrong switch and it's not turned on. It's hard to tell, since the indicator lights that tell you it's turned on are not visible while you are wearing it. Turning it on can be frustrating sometimes. For some reason, I've notice some applications need to close and restart after switching to the headset; otherwise, they continue to play from the laptop's speakers no matter how many times you flick the whacky buttons (see above). The construction is the typical cheap plastic that one often finds on lower priced items. I would have hoped that for $80 I'd get something more substantial, but no. (My Bose headsets are way more substantial, but alas! they have those damn wires!) I once had a Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset, which was even more cheaply made but slightly easier to use. It was not, however, usable while recharging so I like this one better. After I lost the USB transmitter for the Plantronics, I then bought another device which lasted 6 months before it could no longer hold a charge. I cannot remember who made that one but it was an unwieldy contraption that combined a recharging station with the transmitter and which required a constant power source to use it, in addition to the USB port. This Logitech device does not have those limitations and would gain more stars if it were more solidly constructed and if it had better sound and perhaps some lovely noise cancellation features. As it is, I give it three stars which is not bad for $80.
