Headphones great...Once i got them hooked up.

Purchased headphones for my every once in a while late night gaming sessions on ps3 and xbox360. The wife suggested to get a pair so i did my research and read lots of reviews and chose the Siberia v2's. I dont normally write a review but im doing so in hope i can answer a question or two for somebody else which i had trouble finding the answer for myself. set-up....I have my 60" plasma mounted on the wall with all cords in the wall with my xbox360, ps3, computer and cable box all running separate hdmi cables to the back of my TV. I then have an optical audio running from my digital audio out of my tv through the wall down to my pioneer receiver's optical in for audio. i have hdmi switching on my receiver but chose to hook it up this way directly while only needing to change the tv input and keep receiver input the same for 3d viewing purposes and 1080p. my problem...the headphones come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and--an RCA piggy back connector to hook your headphones directly to the PS3 or 360's red and white cables which then go directly into the back of the TV. First, i don't have the analog connectors for either system (got lost or i misplaced them since i figured i would never us them) and even if i did, my mounted tv is only so far off the wall that if i tried to piggy back the rca's they wouldnt fit. I contacted steel series via email asking if there was a solution to my set up and an easier way to hook the headphones up and i basically got told after a two day response time that "wow you have a pretty nice set up but i dont have a solution. sorry if we weren't that much help" I then spent more time researching if anyone else had my problem but couldn't find anything (hopefully that's not because im missing something so simple) . i do most of my shopping on amazon and i started to look up different splitters/connectors that might help. i found for the 360: Gen RCA Audio Cable Adapter for XBOX 360 + Slim which i bought. it plugs right into the 360 and allows the provided "piggy back" rca from the headphones to plug right into the adapter and bam i got the sound from my 360 while still getting sound through my receiver which i could just turn down. i Still had no solution for my ps3. Assuming they would make the same kind of adapter as the 360 i looked but i couldn't find anything similiar. i then started looking at my receiver as an option. understanding this might have been an option if i had my original analog system hookups which i obviously dont have...i have a headphone jack which is a 1/4in on the front of my receiver. obviously bigger than the 3.5mm standard jack the headphones provide. i purchased a 3.5mm female to 1/4 male adapter hoping that will solve the problem but not sure since i have yet to receive it. i will update once i do and hopefully that will be the solution. as easy as it may have been this whole time. As for the sound quality and the feel of the headphones...Ive never owned a pair before but its a whole new experience for gaming. using 5.1 is great until your wife starts complaining its too loud but when the headphones are on i keep finding myself taking them off just to make sure the craziness that is happening with them on is not happening in the room. Sound is great, you hear things you've never heard before and the they feel extremely light on your head. If anyone else has an idea for me or a better way to hook them up please let me know. i feel im pretty good when it comes to hooking this stuff up but when i got these i was definitely in a struggle looking for a solution. Having the original rca hookups for each system might have saved a headache but for my situation i figured there had to be an other solution.

Horrible product would not recommend to anyone.

So I recently brought the Siberia v2 for ps3 a 2 weeks ago. When I first set them up when I would go to audio settings on ps3 I can hear a LOUD static noise. It was so loud the the bar on audio settings will max out. Also when I play online in MW3 & ME3 people can hear the static noise and they say the chat isn't as good as the PX21.I also tested the Siberia v2 ps3 on Skype just to see if maybe its just a ps3 problem NOPE on Skype the chat is horrible compare to my PX21 and there is a slight hiss. The only good thing about these headset is the GAME sound was amazing(way better than my PX21).But wayyy to many cons to recommend them.I ended up returning these BUT me being a idiot thinking "Oh maybe I just got a bad headset" I ordered a 2nd one and it came yesterday and IT HAS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM.You can also search on Youtube alot of people having problems with this headset(no game sound,static/hiss etc...).Sadly I cant recommend the PX21 cause the build quality is terrible(After about 8 months the right ear blew out so I cant hear from the right ear which happens to alot of people) and i definitely cant recommend these. Please can someone recommend be some good headsets that wont break the bank.
