My iPad 2 is happy!
By Mark A. Wilson on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2011
What a slick printer. The good impression came with the box: the printer came well-packed, even to the HP tote bag that was used as the inner-most wrapping. The set-up was simple, with one hiccup: you're told to remove the packing tape, plug it in, turn it on, and follow instructions. So far, so good. But I kept getting an error message on the cool video screen, something about a paper jam - odd, since there was no paper in it yet! I finally figured out the little flipper tabs on the printer cartridge holders were flipped up, preventing the lid from closing fully; once I flipped them down so the lid closed completely, the installation and setup continued without a hitch. I used the on-screen setup to connect to my network, instead of the recommended CD installation, and that went perfectly. And when I was done, I fired up the iPad, brought up Safari, hit the Print option, and ta-da, there was the HP Envy printer! Selected it, and printed just fine. Just as advertised, NO additional setup or software on the iPad at all. Now _that_ is what I wanted. I can print from my iPad, plus HP throws in its ePrint service (in addition to Apple's AirPrint) for free. I tested that, and it worked, too. This is one spiffy printer. I really liked the on-screen animations that were available during setup if you needed further instruction. I didn't need the help, but I liked having the animations there. Did I mention this is a cool printer?

Scanning Limitations
By A. Vulcano on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2012
Form is supposed to follow function. But not in the case of the hp ENVY 110 e-all-in-1 printer. If you're thinking of scanning anything thicker or wider than few 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper, you're up the creek. The cover is hinged like a laptop's. Ever other printer-scanner I've ever owned had a cover that would rise up, at least some distance, to accommodate some thickness. No matter what I tired, light would leak in and produce shading; and forget color. Also, this printer is the slowest, printer-copier I've owned in many years and it is a real challenge to pull out the paper tray. This printer is beautiful to look at, but these functions are ugly. Unfortunately for me, this was not an Amazon stocked product and I will have to pay shipping and restocking costs to send it back. This was the most expensive printer I have ever purchased. I was hoping that spending a little more would save me some in the long run. Not.HP Envy 110 e-All-in-One Printer (Brown)
