Great wireless router - easy setup - fast performance
By Jeffrey M. Papineau on Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2012
This router is fast and cheap. This router is about twice as fast as my old router, copying files up to my home file server at about 10mb per second. And it's still just as fast the next day or 2 after, so I've not reset it once yet and it's been online under heavy use for last 3 days, works great.I would notice with my old D-Link, it would gradually lose speed a few hours, or a day after it's been rebooted, and I got tired of resetting it all the time. Would not hang, just got slower, which was still not good. Not sure my laptop can take advantage of the dual-band feature. It's a 2012 model Samsung, but I don't think it supports 5ghz band. Seems it takes years for device manufacturers to catch up with router capabilities (like AC) so I'm not going to purchase features I don't need. (I see people buying routers all the time that far outpace any device they could possibly have in their home that could connect to it.)On the other hand, the last Wireless-N router I purchased was in 2008, and I've been looking for something faster every year since. I would read reviews and think, I'm not going to spend a $150 for a new router that's no better than the one I already have (since the reviews were not great, and they were expensive too).Very easy setup, not sure I'll need the dual band until I get a device that supports it; should happen soon enough.. since I'll probably keep this one about 4 years until I think I can do better for $70 or so.

Awesome when it isn't crashing...
By krazyd123 on Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2015
This router works awesome when it isn't crashing.... The router consistently crashes and disconnects me from the internet. Online gaming is impossible with this router thanks to this. There hasn't been a firmware update since 2012 either, so WD has decided that it is apparently "good enough". Garbage. I bought this a month ago to replace a router that wouldn't allow permissions for online gaming anymore. Decided I would try this, and it worked well for a while, but as the weeks have gone on, it's crashing has increased exponentially. I will be able to connect online, play maybe a game, and next game it will boot me, and the router resets...Not worth the $30... I'm really regretting not spending the extra $20 for a Netgear. I guess that is my next option...
