EMTEC Click 2.0 32GB USB Flash Drive

I bought the EmTec 32GB flash drive from a physical store (not Amazon) because it was on sale for $15. I could not believe that I could get a 32GB flash drive for only that much, so I decided to try it out, even though I had never heard of EmTec. Now I wish I had left it on the shelf. I was in the middle of transferring some things from my 16GB SanDisk flash drive over to the new 32GB drive when the drive light went on and stayed on. An error dialog box came up on the computer stating that the copy process had failed due to the disk being unavailable. Upon further inspection of the drive contents, I discovered that there was nothing on the drive at all and that it was locked as read-only. Thinking it might have been my computer, I tried it in another drive and found it was also marked as read only on that machine as well. In an attempt to make the drive usable, I tried a format both through Windows and through a specialized flash drive formatting tool, neither were able to format the drive. I could not believe this as I have other flash drives from both SanDisk and PNY that I have used for over 7 years with no problems whatsoever. In checking around online, I have found that there are a lot of complaints about EmTec flash drives and them failing rather quickly. I will be bringing this drive back to where I purchased it and will try to swap it out for a better quality brand.
