This is a really nice dual band router...!
By Vinny The Review Guy on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2013
I bought this router, due to the fact the price was very reasonable, especially with all the little functionality built-in to it. * Wireless Dual Band * Gigabit ports * two USB ports for printers, hard drives, et cetera First off, I had no trouble getting this working with my broadband I had recently install a few days prior. Nice easy setup, and nice GUI interface to configure the router the way you want it. I am still looking to do some more tweaking on it, but not a rush. Just remember, you may want to "clone" it to your broadband router or PC which is the original piece of equipment, configured to your broadband account. I have had this for about a month or just under a month, and it is really running great! It does not get very hot to the touch neither! I have used both bands of wireless for this device, but I have noticed, that if you have an older piece of equipment, it does not seem to recognize the 5.0 GHz band. My cell phone recognizes it, but my laptop, Xbox, and PS3 do not. My cell phone is only a couple months old, while the rest of my devices are easily, 2 years old each. So, the 5.0 GHz looks to be a great option if you have very to pretty new equipment to recognize this wireless broadband. This makes me happy that I did not get the upgraded router to this one, which does the 450 MB wireless connectivity for 5.0 GHz. This particular model does the 300 MB wireless 5.0 GHz, and I suggest this one if your wireless equipment is more than 3 to 6 months old currently. I have not used the USB ports yet, but have used the 2.4 GHz wireless connection for laptop, PS3, and a wireless laser printer, and works totally fine. I have hard wired my desktop, Internet phone, satellite, and Xbox 360 to the Gigabit ports, and these babies are FLOWING and MOVING... without any trouble, and not getting and issue with multiple devices using wireless & hard wired ports. So, this product is very good for the money, just note that your current equipment may not see the 5.0 GHz, due to the age of your equipment in use. You'll have to check your equipment manuals to verify if it handles the 5.0 GHz wireless. Hope this helps a bit. Regards.

Okay Router for the Cost.
By Allen on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2015
I've only owned the router for one day, but I have a bit to say about it: The router has surely an interesting design, physically, I like it. Software wise it has given me a plethora of options that I thought only existed on more higher end routers. I've taken use of the Guest Network option to pretty much isolate every device that does not belong to me and put it in a controlled environment that is the Guest Network. It was pretty easy to then set a rule because anything that went onto the Guest Network would run into the rather strict bandwidth rules I have in place(had to set a bandwidth rule because of a 13 year old who liked using the bandwidth to skype with people all day and night, the main reason why I wanted a router like this). It was even pretty easy to create an access list for my core network so that only my devices would be able to frequent the network. All in all, it offered me a pretty good set of options. The only real negative side, which is why I've docked a star, is that the range of the router isn't as great as I thought it would be. I had imagined that I would be able to go out decently far into my yard and still have some signal, but alas that didn't happen. Granted the router is powerful enough to get through every wall in my house so it does the job at least, but not above and beyond. I'd like to find some stronger antennas for it. I'm still getting very good speeds, so honestly this is a decent router for the cost; it has plenty of out of the box software options and internet options. It's only lacking in signal coverage but hopefully some new antennae will fix that. Will update if anything changes! Update: Now that I've had the router for a few months, I see what's going on with it and I am docking it a star. It seems to not be able handle multiple users getting on the Internet while having bandwidth control in place. I had network A, available to just a few devices, have access to around 80% all bandwidth, technically it was 100% because I placed the bandwidth control on network B to only utilize up to 20% of all bandwidth. Network B was open to everyone else in the house, meaning like 3 devices and if they were to do anything bandwidth consuming, I too would take a hit so bad that it was as if I was on the throttled network. My ping times would be ridiculous but the network speed would be fine... Which is odd. Just to double check, I also used my old router given to me by my ISP and nothing of the sort happened, albeit without bandwidth control. I even went as far as updating the software to aftermarket software and used bandwidth control to the furthest extent possible AND EVERYTHING WORKED however I had to return it back to normal because the aftermarket software actually didn't have the best options for QoS. Just today I was gaming and using VoIP, like I've done before with a different router some time ago, and the router got so bad that Windows detected a problem and the Internet ceased to work until I disconnected from it and reconnected. I am now about to buy a new router.
