High DPI, lightweight ambidextrous gaming mouse!
By Bradi Schiller on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2014
This is a pretty good gaming mouse, with DPI selection buttons behind the mouse wheel, allowing for on-the-fly DPI selection in the heat of battle. This is great for turning DPI up for frenzied, fast paced movement with SMGs and LMGs in Battlefield, especially during hip fire, then hitting the button to lower the DPI to get a nice, steady aim when using scopes and ADS. The mouse is extremely lightweight, so pickup and movement is very easy. One consequence of this, though, is that any strains on the mouse cord (like getting caught on desktop stuff) will constrain your movement a bit more than a heavier mouse. The sides have a nice textured rubber grip to them, for easier holding and less slippage. There are two side buttons on each side, most likely to support both right hand and left hand users. This causes an issue where you'll accidentally hit the opposite side with your fingers, so I recommend turning one side off inside the Razer Synapse software. The last physical notes on this mouse are these: 1) The ambidextrous nature of the Taipan makes it, initially, far less comfortable than traditional right hand mice. It took me a week to get used to having my ring and pinky fingers hanging off to the side alone. 2) The mouse wheel glows orange, which looks really cool in no or low light. It's not bright enough to notice under direct overhead lights. 3) The mouse wheel is not one of those click-to-freewheel ones; you cannot freely spin it like some mice. This is less desirable in documents and web pages, but it makes the wheel much, much more useful than the free-wheel ones in-game, because the freewheel ones, even in normal usage mode, tend to over-spin, causing you to miss many weapons in your weapon selection.

Its Okay.

The mouse was fine, I ended up returning it because I couldn't get a hold of Razer support. The mouse I got had a sticky/noisy LMB that was really getting on my nerves. Probably just a small defect.
