Amazon Basics - 6 Sheet Cross Cut Paper Shredder

I bought this Paper Shredder primarily for basic home use – getting rid of old bills and sensitive documents. For that, it does the job... mostly. The cross-cut is nice and provides decent security. However, I'm a bit disappointed. First off, like many other reviewers have pointed out, it cannot shred CDs. I know it's in the product description, but at this price point, it feels like a major omission. Many cheaper shredders do offer that functionality, and it would be a nice added benefit. It's a recurring theme mentioned across reviews that people wish it could. Secondly, while it can supposedly handle 6 sheets, it struggles, especially if they are even slightly crumpled or thicker paper stock. I was really hoping to be able to shred documents with staples attached. I frequently forget to remove them, and it is a pain. Unfortunately, it can't handle staples, so you need to be meticulous about removing all metals. Also, I feel it should be able to cut more than 6 papers for this price range. Ultimately, it's an okay shredder for light use if you're on a budget. However, I think you can find better options with more features for a similar price if you do a little digging. If you need to shred CDs or documents with staples, look elsewhere.
