They sound fantastic and are a great value - as long as you receive a good unit
By Brandon on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2016
These speakers are fantastic. They sound great and the subwoofer is surprisingly powerful. The sound is clear, crisp, and strong when it needs to be. I thought the speakers seemed a bit weak given their size and weight, but they do not disappoint at all. Even the subwoofer looked small to me, but it delivers great bass. I use these on my PS4 setup, which is hooked up to a computer monitor via an HDMI to VGA converter, which has an audio jack built in; as my monitor has no port or built-in speakers, this is where I plug the Z213 in. I note this because I cannot adjust the volume as liberally as one might on a traditional computer (which I assume most people would use these for), yet I can crank up the volume on the control pod without compromising the sound quality. It's possible that it can still perform well past the limits I am restricted to, but I've not tested that for fear of breaking something. All of that being said, I did have an issue with the set I received initially. After about two weeks of use, sound in one of the speakers cut out intermittently (just the satellite speakers, nothing to do with the subwoofer; that was fine). It would be working, and then all of a sudden, it would stop. Several hours later, it started up again. When setting them up, I was very careful not to damage anything, so something in the wiring was likely the issue. I say this because the speaker that went out wasn't the one that had all of the main cables going into it; it was the one speaker that had one wire going into it, connecting it to the speaker that had everything going into it. I approached Logitech directly after checking everything I possibly could myself - the state of the speakers, the connection points, visible damage, etc. They were very formal and requested information on my specific set - which I provided - and also questioned me on the basics. They asked me about checking the connections, both between the components in the set and with my device (PS4) and other related questions. After informing them that everything was correct and there was no damage, they issued a replacement, which was sent out the same week at no charge whatsoever. Really, you have nothing to lose with this product and everything to gain. It's a great set for a small gaming setup (like mine) and absolutely perfect for a computer setup, especially if you watch a lot of movies on it. Plus, you can't beat the price for two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. If you experience problems, just spend a little time talking to Logitech customer support and they will gladly help you out. This product comes highly recommended!

Bad construction but if it works, it's fine for confined setups
By Tyler H. on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2018
This product is good for people who want subwoofer speakers but need a small unit. The desk in the photo measures roughly 2.5 feet from left to right, with a desktop right next to it. I would not recommend that you purchase this unless you are as limited in space like that. Most of the wires will have enough room to go from table to desktop port, but the power switch is a little shorter than I would prefer. It still works because if you have a compact workstation; you will be able to macgyver some sort of setup. Sound quality is OK. I was mostly looking for bass and find it satisfactory. However, this is no audiophile's setup. Physical sitting range of hearing is limited. Plain talking, such as YouTube videos, sounds clear but muted if that makes sense. At the same time, cranking the volume all the way up causes strain: The quality of intelligible sound becomes muffled despite overall noises getting louder. This would be fine if you wanted to listen to music while doing something else from 10 feet away, but I don't think it's enjoyable from 20-30 feet away. My unit came with a defective right satellite speaker, hence the bad construction. Two months in, the right speaker stopped working. I found that if I jiggled it and randomly mashed it around the point where the wire enters the subwoofer, then the sound returned. I can turn the speakers to specifically point left or right without issue, so the source of hocus pocus lies within the subwoofer. I avoid touching it at all costs. Furthermore, I suspect on some days that the sound from the right speaker is slightly lower than the left speaker. On other days, they are equally loud. I thought that I would have had to replace these not too long after discovering the right speaker defect, but it is still functioning over 2 years later (knock on wood).
