Good product, excellent Tech Support
By MGL - PE on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2023
Using this battery backup to protect my computer from power outages and surges.. Power's gone out a few times, and this gives me time to save and shut down safely. I like that it stays cool -- doesn't waste much power while running in standby. Recently the front panel on/off button LED light went dark. Power protection still fine, but I called to ask. Tech Support answered right away, said they'd had a few LED failures. They sent me a new front panel, easy to install. There isn't an obvious self-test button, but self-test can be done from the front panel with a few button pushes. I've also tested by turning off the circuit breaker for the outlet where the UPS is plugged in. By the way, it's best not to test by unplugging the UPS from the wall outlet. That would also unplug the (round, slightly longer) safety ground pin of the plug, which can cause trouble if you have cables like USB, internet or video connecting other equipment which is still plugged in to a live outlet. Besides, it's easier than moving furniture to reach the plug.

Defective & Damaged PC
By TJ on Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020
August 28,2020, we had a brief power outage. This Unit did not go to battery power on lines connected to battery powered (black). Maybe it did shut down my PC . It's hard to tell since the PC would have shut down anyway. Whatever the CyberPower BRG 1500 did do in the shutdown process damaged my Falcon Northwest rendering it unbootable. I had a Dell Optiplex in the next room (same power supply circuit). It was connected with a $25.00 surge protector. After the power was restored the Dell Optiplex started up just fine but the Falcon Mach V wouldn't reboot. The CyberPower failed to go to battery and somehow damaged the PC. So much for expensive surge protection. There was no way to know that the unit would do this until it happened, so I am just slightly outside their return window. The LCD showed full battery charge, etc. I can't see why you would test one of these units unless you hit the circuit breaker to create a mock power outage just to see if actually worked. Hopefully, CyberPower will just take it back. Otherwise, given the wording of their warranty, it looks like a small claims matter. Additional information: This company makes returns and warranty service very, very difficult. For most folks the hassle probably isn't worth it unless there were costly equipment damages. I would advise not purchasing any products from this company. Down time, hassles over warranty and associated delay, likely short lifespan due to poor quality, etc. Note that you will pay shipping on warranty service return even when it quite new and is a clearly defective product. The prices are only attractive if you disregard the both quality, lifespan and additional costs in both money and your time associated Their prices are good but you will be shopping at the junkyard.
