Corsair Gaming H2100 Wireless Dolby® 7.1 Gaming Heads

I purchased this headset as a personal treat. I spend several hours per day on conference calls and want to be able to stand and walk around if I like. This is the third wireless headset I've tried and I'm pleased to finally have a solid option. First I tried a bluetooth headset. While the headset works great with a phone it does not work well with a PC. When paired with a PC the PC will choose only one mode, either headphones with no mic or headset with a mic and will not automatically switch between the two. The problem with this is that headset with mic mode in bluetooth is low fi mono. So when listening to music or videos on the PC it sounds terrible. Next I tried a Turtle Beach PX4 because it was on sale for $50. I was using a Turtle Beach wired headset and it works fine. This headset sounded fine and worked well, I found it had a flaw I could not live with. When it auto-powered off or if I turned it off and then turned it on again the mic would not work. It required unplugging and plugging the transmitter's USB cable. TB Tech Support told me that this was just the way it works so I sent it back. I narrowed my search to the Logitech G930 and the Corsair H2100 mostly on price. I went with the Corsair because other reviewers seem to like the fabric ear pads over the fake leather on the G930. I valued comfort over extra buttons. I've used the headset for 3 days and I could not be more happy with it. It is very comfortable. My hat size is above average and the headset fits well and is not too tight. I wore it for several hours on calls and listening to music an it did not make my ears or head sore. The yellow trim isn't my favorite, but it is growing on me. The sound is very good. I listened to some favorite youtube videos and I could hear subtle things I never heard even with my wired set. The range is not as good as the PX4 or the bluetooth but is fine for what I need. I could probably improved the range by placing the transmitter in its included stand and putting that on top of my cube wall. I just don't want to advertise that I keep an $80 headset in my cube. I like that moving the mic boom up mutes the mic. The mic is also very clear and has excellent sound rejection. I skyped with my son who was sitting upstairs while I had the TV on fairly loud. He said he couldn't hear the TV in the headset even though the TV was loud enough to hear it upstairs. The volume control works well and is easy to find. So far I have not run the battery down in full day of use. These are not complaints, just comparisons. The other headsets beep when turned on or off. The Corsair makes no sounds so if you turn them on or off while on your head you cannot really tell if the button was held down long enough. It would be nice if the transmitter stand had a USB port on it so that the charging cable wouldn't burn another USB port on the computer. I would definitely recommend this headset because of the price, sound, comfort, and solid software.
