Best headset I own and I own two.

Love this headset. I let all my friends try them on and laugh at their expressions as they are blown away by the performance. I went back and played old games just to hear everything I missed. I have owned several other headsets and these are leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. Don't even mention turtle beach. Turtle beach vs Astro is like comparing Apple flavored candy to biting into an actual Apple. Pros: -Outstanding quality sound! Gets painfully loud(a good thing) Huge bass! The kind you can feel in your chest when you fire a shotgun. -flip up mic design is the best. I can't go back to the wired button type anymore. -chat to game volume adjustment buttons on the right ear piece are so natural to use and convineint. -wireless range is going to be more than enough for any room size. Don't even worry about it. Cons -battery life is my biggest complaint. Regardless of what the specs say the battery will last about as long as your PS4 controller will, which just isn't long enough it seams(ever). The other major issue is the battery is permanent. No way to replace or extend(unless you send it into Astro for $50 and have them swap it out). Since my first Astro A50 they did change the charging port to micro usb(same as PS4 changer) which is a welcome change. -weight. It's not heavy but it's not light. It's balanced but the top pad isn't soft or thick enough and starts to bother the top of my head. Improvements that need to be made are longer lasting and/or swappable batteries and thicker/softer top pad. These issues are minor compared to the quality of the product, ease of use and the performance of this amazing headset. I recommend it to everyone.

Bad product. Spend your money elsewhere.

I've been an Astro customer since 2011, bought 3 A40s and one A50. The 2011 A40s were great, mainly because of their long wires so you can set the mix amp anywhere. The 2013 A40 was not that great, performance wise it did it's job, however the wire was so short you have to keep the mix amp in your lab! You buy a 300$ headset and you expect something nice but no, we'll give this short wire because 300$ was barely enough to make a "gaming headset". Anyway, to the big failure that is the A50. What do you expect when you buy an expensive wireless headset? well how about a little app that shows you how much left in the battery? nope. how about a way the customize that horrible high sound that warns you when the battery is low? nah. How about a decent mic that works at least okay? no. So here we go, the moment you open the mic, an annoying sound start buzzing in your ear, so annoying that it will drive you insane in 10 minutes or so, and from what I read the same issue was in the old A50s that were made a year ago! so why didn't they fix it? well because Astro don't care about you as much as they care about your money. How about a small and a very basic app that at least shows how much battery left? no? too much work? for crying out loud Logitech wireless headset -costs 50$- has a working app that works wonderfully! so why can't you people hire some one to make you an app! To the main issue AND BUYER BEWARE of this huge huge problem, at least once a week the headset freezes, you can't turn it off, lower or hire the volume, and there is no way to fix this but to leave it until the battery runs out. Even worse, during this freeze the headset start buzzing and making all sort of unholy noises, so even the thought of putting it on your head is just out of the question. This issue happened to man many people, just google: A50 freeze and the first link is the a thread in Astro forums, the thread is 8 pages of people reporting the same issue, and guess what was Astro's answer? "If you are experiencing this issue then you will need to contact our support team to troubleshoot. We won't ignore you but will troubleshoot until we can stop it from occurring in your setup.? -Guess how did that go? well it didn't fix the issue. So please, if you have 300$ the spend on a headset, go with some other brand and be sure it has a plenty of positive reviews.
