iMicro USB Dual Headset Adjustable Micro

I needed a stereo headset so I could combine VoIP use with my normal audio diet, but did not want to pay the going rate for Plantronics or another first-tier marque. This iMicro IM320 fits my bill perfectly. Note that the cord includes a volume/mute controller not pictured in the Amazon description. This isn't quite as comfortable as the Plantronics I use at work, and there are better headphones out there for music, but this is a great price point for a day-to-day headset. Another point in the IM320s favor is that I wanted a USB interface to provide audio devices separate from existing soundcards. This one works just as great under Linux as it does under Windows 7. EDIT: I had this headset for a little over two months. I used it very lightly, as a matter of fact maybe 5 times total, for less than an hour. Tonight, I used it to listen to videos in private, and at about 10 minutes the headset clicked and died. No sound, no LEDs lit in the control unit. I pulled & reinserted the USB plug and heard clicks, but no LEDs. No corresponding devices showed up in response to "lsusb" or under my sound controller. Kernel messages indicate that the system detects a USB device, but the ID read fails. Appears to be a hardware failure, totally dead. It's out of the return window and at this price, not worth the hassle of attempting any sort of warranty fix. Performance was good while they lasted but this is just a cheap piece of junk.
