Good value and has worked fine if used within its limits.

Considering the price, this shredder has worked fine, though I do not often force multiple sheets through it. I have shredded several credit cards, and it has worked just fine for that, too. The noise level is fairly high, but it has been for every shredder I've owned that worked well. The instructions caution users about continual use for more than 15 minutes or so. My ears are usually due for a rest by then. I did buy some like oil for lubricating it, and lubricate it after each use and clean out any small pieces of paper that get stuck. I've very satisfied with the shredder.

Shredder is six years old now though very lightly used. Worked really well until two years ago and autofeed quit working - would not turn off after paper fed into it. Today I came home after being out for a few hours and the shredder had turned itself on, the casing was very hot and a strong smell of electrical stuff melting. No fire and no smoke. I turned it off and took outside to cool down. Room still stinks. Printer was in auto mode, but was not on when I was home and to turn on in auto mode would have to feed a piece of paper into it. Needless to say even though it worked well for a few years I won’t be buying this model again.
