Otter box does not disappoint.

Has kept my iPad protected for years. I use it for commercial usage and the iPad is still in great case. The case is also in good condition even though I have had it for years. Worth it.

Good protection! Poor design changes
By Devils grin on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2016
I had the previous version of this case for my iPad mini retina and it worked great. Granted that model iPad didn't have Touch ID but I found the case design to be spot on. I recently gave my iPad mini retina to my daughter and upgraded to the iPad mini 4 for myself. I immediately bought another otter box defender case for it sinc the last one worked so well. The new case functions and installed the same and it certainly provides excellent protection (except for water intrusion. The port covers are not designed as waterproof. Only water resistant.). I have found outside of the good protection that there are a few major design flaws which are pretty annoying. 1. They have changed the way the charge port opens. Instead of opening from front to back it now opens back to front making it VERY difficult to get to when the stand is snapped on to the cover. I generally have to remove at least one corner of the plastic stand in order to get the port open. Also, since it opens back to front the piece (or hinge) of rubber holding the port to the case is at its weakest point. I could see issues arising with that down the road. 2. The iPad mini 4 has Touch ID which is VERY convenient. Unfortunately the design of the case around the home button is so constrictive it makes adding a fingerprint very iffy if not nearly impossible. iOS requires you to cover the home button to create a print and the way the case is designed prevents that if using your thumb unless you have VERY VERY small thumbs. I'm a man but I don't have particularly huge thumbs. I ended up having to use my pinky to create a print. Extremely inconvenient. Hopefully they will fix these design flaws in the future. If so I'd give it 5 stars for sure.
