Genuine Canon CLI-271XL HIGH Yield Ink Cartridge, Grey

First, let me say that I realize this review is coming in way too late, but I only recently found out what the problem was with my printer and it had to do with the PGBK 270 ink cartridge. I have a Canon printer and I was low on ink so I ordered the combo pack of ink cartridges. When I opened the box, I noticed that the PGBK 270 ink cartridge did not have the prepackaged wrap on it. Unfortunately, I didn't pay too much attention to it because after I installed it, my printer said the tank was full and that it was a genuine Canon cartridge. After installing the cartridge, I began having print problems. I thought that it was the printer. Since retiring in March, I don't use the printer too often so when I tried using it to print a document, after the ink cartridge was installed, the printer did not print properly. A lot of text from the document I was trying to print was missing. I tried cleaning the heads, roller, plate and nothing worked. A print nozzle check pattern revealed that the PGBK ink was not present (there was no pattern for it on the paper). I bought a new cartridge today and everything worked fine. This issue was not because I used up the ink in the previous cartridge because as I said, I do not print all that much anymore. So my question is, was it a vendor supplier issue or was it a Canon issue?
