AMAZING sound quality with an achilles heel; the Microphone failed in under a year
By MalibuK8 on Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2020
I have given this a 4 star review based on my impression of the speaker sound quality ONLY over the last 10 months of ownership (EXCLUDING the Microphone which has now failed completely). This is not my only headset, but it is my main headset, with or without a working mic, I prefer it over my Razer Kraken Pro, and Corsair Void, and Recon60P (all still have working Mic's and are MUCH older) in terms of speaker quality; when it comes to Microphone, none of the others come close to the Recon Microphone in quality; compared to it, the rest sound extremely cheap. Purchased to replace still working but aging recon60P, and the Void, and Kraken just weren't up to snuff without RGB ;) It was a nice upgrade in sound quality, but a huge decrease in mic quality. The software is great, sound quality is great, but the mic has failed in under a year. Now anytime the mic is activated it sends static through assaulting anyone in discord, or games. The mic is now akin to my $5 usb camera mic; and only broadcasts noise, since it is not detachable like the Recon60P it cannot be replaced. I will be getting a standalone mic, because I love the sound quality of this headset, and it fits my build (my other peripherals are Logi too). Consider this purchase a headphone purchase and you won't be disappointed. If you are getting it for the mic, it fails fast, and voice quality is mediocre on this headset, get a different headset, or a standalone mic with this one.. Honestly, I expected more from logitech at this price point. I love that you can plug your phone directly into it, and take calls in a side channel using a switch on the headset, granted the no mic thing detracts from that quite a bit now. The software works, though it can be a bit buggy around the edges. As it is less expensive now, by 70% I'd say this would be a great choice for a basic studio, or 7.1 surround applications. But don't rely on the non-removable built-in mic. Build quality is mid grade, feels good, but not super expensive. Mostly plastic, some cool magnets to 3dprint your own earcaps as well. lighter than the Void and Kraken, but heavier that the Recon60P. It's a good balance in terms of weight, and doesn't get heavy under long gaming sessions. The earcups can be quite squeeky, keep them lubed, or risk getting a migraine diagnosis from them moving around every time your head moves.

Absolutely garbage. Avoid purchasing at all cost!
By Chris G on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2019
I've had nothing but frustrations with this headset since I bought it. Buying these was the biggest regret I had of 2018. The sound quality is whatever... not great, not terrible. But the quality of the material is awful. First off, the usb cable it came with was super fickle and didn't really work well from the start. I could literally wiggle the cable and lose connection to the headset. So I threw that out pretty early on and used my own. Fine. Even then, the micro USB connection is still super sensitive, and didn't even keep the cable snug inside... so over time it would just get loose and the slightest shake or bump would loosen it enough for it to loose connection. So right away this is not great, losing connection randomly is super annoying when I'm gaming. I even had my game crashing several times when this happened because apparently my computer didn't like the audio device being removed suddenly? Moving on from the connection issues, I want to talk about the foam ear pieces that you can detach to replace... Well, they suck. Absolute trash. I had them come off way too easily and they take incredible patience to put back on... something that I lack when I'm in the middle of an online match and I need a functioning pair of headphones. So either I just say screw it and play the remainder of the match with one foam ear piece missing, or I sit there fiddling with it until I get it back on. It's extremely frustrating trying to get them back on, because as I stated earlier, they come off super easily... just a slight tug in any direction and it pops off. But to get it on you have to slowly and carefully apply the right amount of pressure around it while going around the entire piece to secure it all in place... and when you get it about 80% of the way on, you have to be extra careful as you have to stretch it to the limit to get it over the last 20%, and the slightest slip and the whole thing comes off and you have to start over. I know it seems like a silly minor complaint, but when I'm in the middle of a match and I take off my headset momentarily to do something, and the cable comes unplugged or the foam earpiece pops off, I might as well just shut my computer down because I'm not getting back into that match any time soon with a working headset... or I'm going to sit there fiddling with it until I'm fuming and then have a terrible match because of it. Overall this headset is just crap. I just want a quality sound without hassle or dealing with all it's little problems. Just a reliable headset I can take on and off and not worry about stuff falling off of it. These are going in the garbage... probably after I smash them into a thousand pieces.
