Terrific laptop at a terrific price
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2016
The machine is perfectly suited for my basic office needs with no noticeable lag, a great keyboard, acceptable trackpad, serviceable display and -- except for a problem waking from hibernation (common with Lenovo laptops) -- I've had zero problems with it. Battery life is about 7 hours when the cpu speed is restricted and the screen set to 60% brightness. There was almost no bloatware except for an Office 2016 trial. It also included the usual Lenovo utilities, including the very-handy battery saver that (when set) preserves the battery's longevity by preventing it from being over-charged. This means that you can leave it plugged it without problem. I've another Lenovo that's been kept plugged in for most of its 4 years and the battery still has its original life. The build quality on this is great and it's desgned like a tank. There are YouTube videos of this model being thrown down while open, run over by cars while closed and with water dumped on the keyboard; all without damaging it in the slightest. This is especially remarkable since it's only 3.3 pounds. What I needed was a lightweight, functional laptop with a great keyboard for word processing/web browsing that I could carry around without concern. When I started looking, I was expecting to pay at least 2-3 times what I actually paid and I fairly certain that this unit was refurbished or at least an open-box demo. Nope, it arrived in a factory-sealed box, in perfect condition and with 310 days remaining in the warranty. I've been completely happy with this for the several weeks that I've had it and I'd buy it again from this seller without hesitation.

Product was awful but support was worse. Never experienced worse support.

Purchasing this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a customer. The Thinkpad never worked properly. I tried connecting an external CD drive which didn't work. The support people said the problem was the drive. So I purchased a brand new drive explicitly branded to work with Lenovo Thinkpads. That didn't work. The support people still couldn't help me. So I purchased Premium support. I spent an hour on the phone with a guy who also logged in to my Thinkpad. He couldn't fix it. They sent a guy to my house who replaced the mother board and it still didn't work. He said it must be the drive which was absurd since neither drive worked, the second drive was brand new and branded for Lenovo and the second drive worked perfectly with my iMac (even though it was branded as specifically for Windows... well done Apple). I gave up and returned the Thinkpad. But the fun had just started. Trying to get my Premium support refunded was even worse. "We don't know who you are, are you sure you know your own phone number?" "This is SW support you want HW support" "This is HW support you want SW support" "You need a case number here it is then call SW support" "That's a HW support case number". Thankfully I fulfilled the support order via Amazon and they are working on getting me a refund. I'll never purchase another thing from Lenovo and unless you like spending hours on the phone with people who can't help you I suggest you don't either.
