I loved it so much, I'm buying a second one!

My netbook's hard drive died. Since it was an older netbook, I debated whether or not to even repair it. Once I decided I would, I debated the merits of spending the extra money for an SSD. After deciding to go out on a limb, I chose this SSD based on capacity, speed, and cost. I'm pleased to report that for the past two months it has performed flawlessly, and the speed increases everyone keeps talking about are very, very real. Today, my desktop has a 1TB hard drive that is still working fine, but TBH, when a 1.5GHz dual core netbook is more responsive than a 2.6GHz quad core desktop, I'm thinking I'll be happy to sacrifice capacity just so I can taste some of that sweet, sweet speed here at home. So basically, if you've never tried an SSD in a computer, you really don't know what you are missing, and this SSD has a nice balance of capacity, speed, and cost that make it a worthy consideration. Oh, and when you get yours, it really does feel like an empty plastic shell. Don't worry... they really are suppose to be that light.

READ THIS! It's not worth your time to save $10 vs. buying a better brand!

It's not worth your time to save $10 vs. buying a better brand! Wish I hadn't learned that lesson the hard way. :/ I purchased this to replace the stock 500GB SATA HD on a 2012 MacBook Pro 13". Having lots of experience with SSD drives I knew this was going to have much quicker boot times and data transfer, even if it wasn't the fastest SSD on the market, and like most other reviewers here, I wrote a glowing review after I installed and tested it (I deleted that review to write this one). I purchased in late Jan 2017, installed in laptop a couple months later, which was a gift for my son going to college in the fall, he started using it mid-Aug. FORTUNATELY when it failed it was during finals in early December and all of his papers were already finished an he didn't need his computer anymore for that semester. It could have been a disaster otherwise. So this drive failed IN FOUR MONTHS OF USE. That is absolutely TERRIBLE! Read the other negative reviews on this product and you will see a common thread of a short life-span. How this product is "Amazon's Choice" is beyond me. It is garbage, and I will be buying another brand because having to replace the drive and reinstall everything and losing files (not all was backed up) isn't worth a $10 savings. True, any drive can fail, but I've used dozens of SSD drives now in various computers, and this was the last I have purchased and the first to fail, and I see too many other negative reports of this brand here on Amazon and elsewhere. Save your time, and realize a $10 savings isn't worth it. Think it won't happen to you? Unfortunately there were no reviews like this when I purchased this product. You have been warned.
