Not much better out there for $600
By Michael H on Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2017
Have had this for a few days now so thought I would weigh in.Have this baby hooked up to a GTX 1060 using DisplayPort and am enjoying my 40 inches of pristine bliss. This monitor replaced a 32” 1440p monitor I still have. I have a deep desk so I am able to have about 3.5 to four feet between me and the display. No, this is not a gamers delight monitor and how could it be at only 60hz? What it excels at is pictures, movies, and all around fun. I am still able to play my games (at lower FPS than previous monitor) without blotches or tearing some have reported. I believe a lot of that has to do with what you use to hook this monitor up and with 4K at 60hz it is necessary to have a newer powerful graphics card. If hooking this up to HDMI you will need to purchase a 2.0 hdmi cable as the cable that comes with the monitor is only 1.4 and will not do 4K @ 60hz. Some of you having issues I wonder if this is why. The display port cable that comes with the monitor is 1.2 and does 4K at 60hz. That is what i am using. The app HWinfo works well in showing monitor speed and frequency as it is hooked up.Again, it’s all about realistic expectations and using your noggin. If all you are using your computer for is gaming and you need higher than 60hz refresh then keep looking. For everyone else that uses their computer for productivity, pics, movies, with occasional gaming this is one great monitor and the sheer size and picture is something to behold.

Worst monitor I have ever purchased. All the whites are yellows.
By Dr. Roger L. McCarthy on Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2018
And I have purchased at least 50 monitors in my career. I set it up, plugged it in, and got the yellowest whites I have ever seen on a monitor. Unfortunately, the unit arrives with ZERO instructions, except for some printing on the box. There are two HDMI ports, but one only supports v1.4 while the other supports v2.0. Of course, neither is labeled. You can go to the AOC website for this monitor and find that NO manual is offered for download there. HOWEVER, God bless Amazon, you can download a manual from Amazon for this monitor, which I did. While you would THINK the first HDMI port would be the 2.0 port, but in fact it is the second. I switched inputs and got no improvement. With the manual, I tried every combination of RGB, brightness, enhancement, etc. Little improvement in the whites was possible. I have a dual monitor setup, with the same graphics card driving both monitors, with identical HDMI cables to each monitor. I have attached a picture of the same AOC screen displayed half on the AOC monitor on the left, and half on a Samsung monitor on the right. You can readily observe the stark difference in color quality. Very aggravating to have to send a monitor back. AND, I just got an email back from AOC/Phillips confirming what I found: "You will not be able to match the specifications between a Samsung and an AOC monitor." They can certainly say that again in bold print.
