Be patient/diligent and awesome deals on a used iMac can definitely be had!

I ordered the 27" iMac with 8G of RAM and the standard 1TB HDD (from CTS Warehouse). The specs on this 2015 machine are quite respectable when compared to the latest and greatest 2019s now available and can be had a fraction of the price. No doubt, every year Apple improves these machines, either in price or capabilities. That said, both the 2014 (MF886LL/A) and 2015 27" iMacs support the 5K resolution of the newest generation. The 2014s actually do slightly better on most benchmarks than this 2015 (due to a marginally better CPU and GPU -- check out everymac dot com to compare the features and specs), but the 2014s were originally sold for hundreds of dollars more. Consider a 2014 if you can get it at a better price. As I recall, the comparable 2019 iMac beats the performance of this iMac by about 50% or so (a 6 vs 4 core CPU probably being the main reason). Although the 2014, 2015 and beyond support 5K, the color accuracy has improved in later model years. Keep this in mind when considering which model is right for you. I had no idea what to expect buying this 2015 iMac. What condition would it be in? Would it include mouse and keyboard? Would they be Apple or third party? I was fully prepared to be disappointed and ready to pack up whatever I got for return. I ended up getting way more than I expected. The machine was in pristine condition -- indistinguishable from new. Instead of a 3rd party keyboard and mouse, it came with an Apple USB keyboard and a Magic Mouse 2. The keyboard had some dings only noticeable at close inspection and mouse was also in good condition. Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase! But be warned. The prices of these iMacs (and others) vary day to day. I picked mine up for an unbelievable price of under $600. The next day, the same model's price shot up to almost $900. I was so happy this one, I bought another 2014 for my son for $650. Likewise, the price increased to over $900 the next day! At $600-700, these iMacs are a killer deal! At $900+, obviously, less so. Good luck!

CHIPPED PAINT!!! CHEAP KEYBOARD “DOA” MOUSE “CHEAP PLASTIC” REFURB & YOU CAN TELL
By mjjjlove on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020
**** UPDATE ***** * Received this Aug 31, 2020 * I am updating my reviews after posting the review below... Seller wants to make it right, will be sending me a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, will be refunding me $40.00; its too much hassle for me to send back right now, I will continue to monitor the performance as I had only had this for almost a week. Contacted me after I had sent an email. This iMac came to me with a chipped paint on the stand that is very visible, the wireless keyboard and mouse is generic 3rd party and plasticky cheap! The worse part is they wireless keyboard DEAD ON ARRIVAL!! My kid needs this for school! And I was left to purchase an actual OEM brand new, Apple magic keyboard and Apple wireless mouse. Not only did the keyboard did not work, the mouse kept glitching and cutting off the bluetooth so I also had to buy that from Best Buy just so my kid can attend her online classes. It has been very frustrating as I have sent 2 emails to the seller, as soon as I got it yesterday and today with no answer. The ad states original Apple accessories and peripherals, the power cord I recieved is also generic and cheap! Not sure how long this iMac would last, it says, released date 2017..However, it shows LATE 2015 Model!!!! Very misleading, waste of money as it is 5 years old!!! I will need to replace this next year! The only reason I purchased from this seller and Amazon was because Best buy sold out, Apple same thing and with delivery date close to the end of Sept early October! Lesson learned!!! i will never buy ANY refurbished electronics from this seller, nor buy refurbished in general having to shed out an extra $200.00 for a brand new keyboard and mouse with Best buy as they are the only ones that has it in stock without having to wait 1-2 months for delivery! This is unacceptable, bad experience! I cannot afford for my child to miss anymore online classes. If this issue is not resolved, I will be returning this garbage and buying brand new, I spent 1083.00 for this and extra 200.00 I should have just spent the money and bought a 2020 model iMac directly from Apple and sucked up the waiting process, could just have my child use her chrome book from school in the meantime! Cosmetic flaws and all, the back was dusty, was not even wiped up, looks like someone just threw it in the box. LESSON LEARNED on refurbished.. at this point, I really don’t care about other reviews; I am posting my own experience with this seller! Just look at all the chipped paint all over! And the cheap clunky equipment it came with!
