Excellent Discounted Manufacturer Certified Refur iMAC
By J. Lee on 2/7/2018 4:19:36 PM
I brought this for my daughter's big 21st birthday as she is a business marketing major. This is in addition to the MacBook Pro she already uses for college. The bigger screen I think will be helpful when she is working in the dorm or at home. I thought it was an excellent buy and an excellent computer being a Manufacturer Certified Refurbished computer so comes with an Apple one year warranty at a very good discount compared to the price of a brand new current Apple iMac computer. It also comes with all the original accessories that includes the Apple wireless keyboard and Apple wireless mouse. The specification of this computer is not that significantly less on performance compared to the current models too. So for the discounted price I paid and the specs for this computer I thought it was a great buy and worth it for our family intended use.

This iMac came D.O.A. and Amazon won't let me exchange it for the price I paid originally.
By Nancy A. on 3/6/2018 2:46:21 AM
The iMac arrived on schedule. The shipping box looked fine, but I bought this when it was on a deal sale and was able to purchase it for $699.99 plus tax. Thought it was too good to be true. Well I was correct. As careful as I could be I removed the somewhat lightweight iMac from the box, set it down, and grabbed the instructions. After following them to a tee and when it came time to press the power button, I did so and heard the standard startup chime, but from there it was just a black screen and I've tried everything from hooking up an Apple usb keyboard and trying to reset the SMC and PRAM/VRAM, but I still have the same issue.
The only thing I noticed is that it seems like it stays on after i turn it on, just with no display image because I waited like 5 mins and then hit the power button again, but nothing happened. So I hold down the power button long enough to manually turn off the iMac. I then pressed the power button and I heard the start up chime, but the same issue remained. I contacted Apple Support before contacting Amazon and told me it could be the display, the motherboard, or it just came D.O.A., but he recommended I contact Amazon to see if they can exchange the faulty unit. Well to my dismay, the price went from $699.99 to $1,199.00 and even though I purchased the product and received it for the price it was at the time, it's now gone back up to $1,199.99 and the best Amazon said they could do was for me to take my iMac into an apple store and have them diagnose the issue and then give me and estimate, and they would cover maybe like $100-$200 of the repair costs. My son has had an iMac when he had to get just a few things fixed, the final price was almost $2,000 so I just feel like I should be able to exchange the defective product for the exact same item and pay what I paid originally. There's a slim to none chance that will happen, but its like they only gave me four options. Bring it to the Apple store so they can hopefully fix it, but then you have to pay them probably more than the computer cost when it first came out 2013 and I highly doubt Amazon will cover much, if any of that. Another option is I now have a pretty cool looking paper weight. Third option is I return this item, buy the exact same product, but now pay $500 more. Finally, I can just return the item for the price I paid and sadly not get this awesome computer for the amazing price I originally paid for, but use that money towards something similar. It certainty won't be from this website since they handled my issue so poorly. It makes me believe when these amazing deals are on sale for a short period of time, but for a great discount, the majority are defective.
