Looks sharp, fantastic customization features, but a few flaws, too

For starters, the custom lighting is pretty cool. Whether you want solid colors, or flashier effects, if tricking out your computer is important to you, this is about as nice as it gets for the cost. But if flash isn't really your thing, setting the colors to a nice tone that suits you is equally good. I was also surprised when I started to play games and my keyboard automatically changed to preset customization...when I played Frostpunk, for example, the lighting turned a cool blue-white...nice! The keys seem tight enough, even the spacebar isn't loose as it often is. BUT, some of the keys are a bit 'clacky' though most are somewhat subdued (the sound is mostly contained in the keyboard, but I do have a hard wooden desk, and at times it feels like it amplifies the typing sound. In short, it's not a quiet keyboard (if that's something you find important), but it's also far from the loudest keyboard I've owned, so on this, I'm fairly neutral. A few of the keys are 'squeeky' and I do find that to be more annoying. But overall, won't knock it for that. The one area I am very disappointed though...I've had this keyboard for just about a month now...without any heavy typing...I use the computer mostly for gaming using mouse or gamepad, most of my typing is confined to social media...and despite the fact I haven't been typing all that much on it...the paint is already coming off several of the keys. My 'D' key looks like it has a triangle over it on the left side...the 'L' key is also developing a triangle where the paint is wearing away on it's vertical portion. The '>' key is becoming a dot. I mean, that's it, just those three keys...but again, I've only had this keyboard for a month, and I barely type on it...I should not be having vanishing keys for such little use. I am a good typist, I don't need to read the letters to use the keyboard...but if you return to the top paragraph, about tricking out how your keyboard looks, the lighting effects and such...all those lights draw attention to what the keyboard looks like...which means if keys are wearing off...the lights make it GLARING. The whole reason I got a new keyboard was to replace a keyboard I had for 15 years where half the letters had worn off completely, but it had black plastic with white type printed on it...and it took a DECADE of use to start wearing the keys out. I've had this keyboard for a month, and already have three keys disappearing. Overall, it's a keyboard with lots of good features, and software that helps with customizing...but they really farmed the keyboard construction out to the lowest bidder, because between the clacky and squeeky keys, and the cheapest paint you can buy on the keys themselves...I'm very disappointed. Thankfully, the keyboard that came with my new PC is usable, so it's not like I have a shortage of options. But I'm wishing someone had mentioned the crappy painted keys in some of the reviews I read before purchasing this keyboard. I had read such things in other reviews for other keyboards, and that's why I avoided them. Next time, I'll listen to my friends and just buy a boring, reliable keyboard without all the bells and whistles. Lesson learned. UPDATE: June 5, it's been a month, everything above still applies. I'm still generally pleased with the keyboard, but am grossly disappointed by the quality of the paint used to cover the luminescent keys. As of right now: the "D" is just a blob; the "L" is now a tiny sailboat; the ">" is just a dot; the "C" is turning into a crescent moon; and I JUST noticed a large dot on the left SHIFT key not even on the word "shift", just a big ol' dot; on top of that, there are keys that have thin lines of light showing through, they one on the keyboard has been there since I got it, and it hasn't gotten any worse, but now there's one developing on the "M" key on the vertical edge adjacent to the "N" key. If a company is going to use such shoddy paint on their keyboard, the LEAST they could do is include a sticker sheet of all the keys in black with cut outs where the letters, numbers and symbols are, so we can stick them on the keys that are wearing out as soon as we start using the thing, don't you think? How about a little customer service here, give us some satisfaction...I'd be happy with stickers at this point...because in one year, this keyboard is going to be an absolute mess if it continues to decay this fast. UPDATE: September 2, by now the D, L and C keys are just blobs, the N key is basically unreadable, the S & K keys are just starting to get blotchy; on the period key the period is fine, but the > symbol is no longer visible behind a blob; the M and N keys both have issues along their left edge where more and more of the black is wearing off. Making me less and less happy, that this keyboard isn't even a year old, and it looks almost as bad as the keyboard I was using for over 10 years of wear...very disappointed. I figure by mid-winter, I'm going to replace this with the boring keyboard that came with my PC, since this keyboard is looking more and more like shambles...albeit with pretty lights...my advice, go with the boring reliable brand of keyboard, and avoid the pretty ones...
