AM5 Work aroud!! READ!!

WARNING!!!! I originally bought this for an AM4 socket to cool my Ryzen 5 5600X. I recently upgraded to AM5, and there is a workaround to make it compatible. You’ll need to remove the stock AM5 bracket and replace it with the Thermalright AM5 Secure Frame Black V2 CPU Holder, which costs around $7. The screws may feel a bit loose since there’s no tightening point on the back, so you’ll need to lay the system horizontally while mounting the cooler. Once installed, it locks into place securely. IMPORTANT: When unmounting the CPU cooler, you MUST hold down the Thermalright bracket while unscrewing the cooler. If you don’t, it won’t release evenly and could damage your motherboard or CPU! The only real downside is when you need to change the CPU or reapply thermal paste—you’ll have to be extra careful during removal to avoid any damage.

Shame on me for ordering this without researching first. Outdated tech. So outdated NZXT doesn't offer it on it's website anymore. Everything was like it should, came sealed, was definitely new like advertised but not without some faults. Yes, brand new but with faults. This cooler keeps my CPU as cool as it has ever been, which also increases FPS significantly better than my old stock Intel fan. Fits properly, compatible with my case and considering it's older, value was spot on. Only downside? This thing shrieks whenever it pleases. It sounds as if I went outside and placed a baseball card in my bicycle spokes like the good olé days. This shriek gets so loud that people can hear it over the mic. I've scoured the web to find that this problem is incredibly persistent among other users and apparently is a common problem with this brand of coolers. I love this brand but this noise is unbearable and I definitely won't get another, old or new. Fun fact; This sound didn't start until about a month after installation, so I can't even return it at this point, hinting at the 1 star review. Shame on me for not reading/ paying attention. $90 down the drain of shame.
