Glad I bought this!

The charging port on my Fire HD 8 got messed up and my charger was very loose when I would plug it in. 9 times out of 10 I would wake up the next morning to find it never charged. Rather than try to find a way to replace the charging port (or wait until Prime Day to buy a new Fire tablet) I found this wireless charger instead. It works perfectly. Now I simply place my tablet onto it and wait for it to charge.

Advertised to work with Spotify, but it doesn't...

If you (like me) have a Kindle Fire Tablet that you bought this dock for, hoping to use the tablet full time as a glorified Alexa Show, then you may be in for a disappointment, depending on your intended use. My story: The main reason I use Alexa show is to control my Spotify premium account. I had a Kindle Fire HD 10 that I wanted to find a use for, and I thought that turning it into a full time Alexa Show would be awesome. So, I ordered the Show dock, which is advertised to work with Spotify. So I got everything set up with the Dock, and put the tablet into show mode. I asked Alexa to play music from Spotify, and her response was to open the Amazon app store, and link me to the Spotify app download page. This was the first sign of trouble, because on my Alexa Show 5, Spotify works perfectly, and I didn't have to install the Spotify app to get it working properly. So, for giggles, I installed the Spotify app on the Kindle Fire, and logged into my Spotify premium account. At this point, I once again asked Alexa to play music from Spotify. this time, the result was that music did indeed start playing in the Spotify app, however, Show mode was shut down in order to do so. Furthermore, I no longer had voice control for Alexa to control the Spotify playback - I couldn't stop the music, skip to next song, adjust volume, etc, with Alexa commands... So it looks like the only way to use Spotify on a Fire with Show enabled, is to ask Alexa to play music in Spotify, then the show mode will shut down, and the music will start to play in Spotify. From there, if you want to skip songs, shuffle, adjust volume, etc, you have to do it all manually. Then, when you are done with Spotify, you need to manually (or with voice command) start Show Mode again. So in other words, useless for Spotify playback through Show mode with this dock. Yes, I have made 100% certain that I have everything set up properly in order to get Spotify working in Show mode on the tablet; I have a Spotify premium account, the Fire Tablet is updated to the latest operating system, I am using the latest and greatest Spotify app on the Fire Tablet, and I opened the Alexa app, and confirmed that my Music option is linked to my Spotify premium account. Spotify works perfectly fine on all of my Alexa show 5s with voice commands, however, the Fire Tablet in show mode works in a totally different and undesirable way, and as such, Spotify is nearly useless for voice command, when using the Fire Tablet in Show mode. So, if you think you are going to use this dock to use your Fire Tablet to control Spotify when in Show mode, think again. I would recommend that you take a hard pass. If you don't give a hoot about Spotify, and want to use all of the other Alexa show features on your fire tablet in Show mode, then by all means, buy this dock. It is very well constructed, and the dock itself works great, but if you want to use Spotify, don't waste your time or money. I'll check back in a month or two to see if Amazon and Spotify have figured out how to get Fire Tablets to work properly in show mode with Spotify, and perhaps if they figure it out, then I will re-purchase one of these docks and try again. But for now, this is a return for me I'm afraid.
