I Love This Product

UPDATE: I have used this product nearly a year and it remains a very useful tool. 1. The dock is sturdy and reliable. It charges my Fire from more than 3/4 empty to completely full in a couple hours. 2. The case is sturdy. It strengthens the Fire and greatly reduces the probability of your Fire breaking from being flexed while walking your dog (I speak from experience). 3. The case decreased the wear-and-tear on the charging port by reducing the number of times I have to insert / remove the micro-USB plug from it. Micro-USB is a useful tool but not infallible. I have worn out a couple micro-USB charging ports over the years, so this is a great plus. No, the case does not have a screen cover. If you are worried about that, you can get one of any number of screen protectors available for less than $20 on the device's web page. ________________________ The Show Mode Charging Dock works perfectly as advertised and as designed. I have read a few reviews criticizing that the charging case does not include a screen cover, and they are correct, it does not include a cover. A cover, however, will interfere with the design and intended use of the charging dock. As long as you are aware of that limitation and accept it, It becomes a non-problem.

The concept of this product is great, but it is not that good for the price. I bought a Fire 10' Tablet together with this docking station because: a. it should be less fiddly than hooking up a USB cable to a tablet b. I was interested in the 'Show mode' of a tablet in the dock. Before I go further, the 1 star review is because there has been a lack of thought for customers using this product. I don't think this is a truly bad product, but it is comprised and deeply ok. Firstly, this product is too expensive for what it does. ~$60 for a bit of plastic and a USB charger? The next downside is that you need a carrier plastic shell for your Fire HD 10 to charge it before you put it into the docking station. This adds weight to the tablet that some people might not expect. Why doesn't the tablet have the power contacts in place? Opening the package, I was a little confused about what to do, but that is probably just me, in the end it is a couple of pieces of plastic with a charger. The first time I fitted the tablet in the dock it wasn't very clear whether the tablet is charging, now it seems subsequently once the tablet was charged, you do get some nice audio feedback when you take the tablet on/off the dock. This initial experience sounds like a bug. And there is another issue, I was looking forward to the show mode experience, however the issue I have with it is that it is rather underwhelming. I'd like to know when I set up the device what I can do with Alexa, also because I have a number of Alexa devices in the same room, they appear to clash with each other (Fire TV cube) and it is not clear how I disable Alexa on the tablet/dock. A $60 dock might be expected to have a mic on/off button. In summary, I appreciate the thought behind this device but the device should be cheaper or better executed.
