Razer Mamba Elite Gaming Mouse with Mousepad

I typically don't provide a review for products, and yes, this one is negative to some extent. I bought this mouse in 2020 because my son gifted me a Razer keyboard. I feel the mouse is attractive and coordinates well with the keyboard, radiating beautiful colors. The mouse worked well for about 5 years. Now it is starting to have several issues. The most flagrant one is with scrolling. I use the scroll wheel a lot and when I scroll down it scrolls back up on its own. At first, I updated the software but that didn't help. Then I uninstalled and just used the basic mouse software in Windows. Problem still persisted. I went online and this seems to be a common problem with this mouse. I tried all suggestions, but the mouse still has a mind of its own. The other issue is the left mouse button is no longer working properly. I can't select text consistently. I suppose I got as much as I could out of the mouse. Things got so bad that today, May 27, 2025, I bought a basic keyboard and mouse to replace my Razer keyboard and mouse. I don't want anything fancy, just basic. Fortunately, the keyboard works well, so I'll keep it and just replace the mouse for now. I'll have the keyboard as a replacement just in case the keyboard decides to do weird things as well. Rating of 3 stars takes into account that it is not all bad. Until the problems started showing up, everything was working as it should. I confess I never encountered these issues with any other mouse I've owned before, so this was unusual and unexpected. Razer mice are not cheap: you pay for the beauty. Quality could be better, though.
