Razer Atrox Arcade Stick is a great high quality stick. A great substitution for the Madcatz TE2, or even a better than the TE2.

I was looking to buy the Madcatz TE 2 before I bought the Razer Arcade Stick for the Xbox One because the Madcatz TE2 had what I was looking for: changeable artwork, easy customization, and dependable hardware. I also own the Blazblue TE1 arcade stick (for about 5 years now) and I was very satisfied with the hardware. So it would only be reasonable to buy another arcade stick from the same brand. Problem was that the TE2 for Xbox One wasn't a prime item and it would be at different prices, I didn't want to spend more than I had to since these sticks cost $200 already. A great substitution or even a better choice is the Razer Atrox Arcade Stick. It basically has the same thing as the Madcatz TE2. Easy access to the inside of the stick, changeable artwork, easy customization, good hardware, Sanwa Denshi parts for the buttons and joystick (these things are replaceable), a tool for customizing, a detachable cable, and the best part is that it comes with a BATTOP for the joystick so you won't have to buy it separately. Some people are going to say that MadCatz has better hardware between all the console arcade stick manufactures, but the TE2 and the Razer Atrox is built to last for years. I haven't had any problems with the stick so far (had it about two months now) because I find it very hard to break this thing especially the hinge that is in the stick, don't try to force anything when customizing there are videos on youtube that will help you.If the Arcade Stick seem like its defective straight out the box it comes then of course report it. Your paying $200 dollars for this product so take care of it as you would with any other $200+ product.

Fun, but limited...

I purchased the Xbox one version, and I've had it for a while now. I originally bought it to play fighting games with a buddy of mine, and for that purpose, it works great. The build is solid, and the product feels responsive (to be fair, I'm not a fighting game expert). I swapped out the original bracket for an octagonal bracket, which was very easy (unscrew the old one, pop in the new one). My issue with the Atrox is that it doesn't seem to be much of an arcade stick, but rather a fighting game stick. It seems to work with most of the fighting games that I have, but works with very few of my other games. When I bought it, I assumed that the arcade stick would be interpreted by the Xbox One as the standard controller's Left Stick or Dpad. That's not the case. It seems as though the Atrox won't work at all if the manufacturers of the game didn't build in a specific code allowing it to work (e.g. won't control the menu screen, behaves as if no controller is plugged in). Apparently, there are youtube videos that show you how to solder in a new PCB which will allow it to operate for other games, but that just seems excessive considering that you probably shelled out a few hundred dollars for this controller. I find it confusing that Microsoft and Razer would build in an artificial barrier like this. I think it would be a lot of fun to play side scrollers and games like Diablo 3 with the Atrox (even if certain functionality would be lost by not having a Dpad or Right Stick).
