Dremel Digilab 3D40 Flex 3D Printer

Times change and what was once a highly recommended almost must buy has changed to do not recommend. Why is simple. It's outdated. There are newer better machines that do the same level or work at a fraction of the cost. First some pros. Decent build quality. Direct drive extruder. Not assembly required. This admittedly was the printer I learned the most from on how to get acceptable results. Some negatives, (these held true even when it was newer on the market.) Limited filament variety. At 4x an ender 3 price it should not be limited to PLA only. Non heated build plate. Every other FDM I have run has had this. Proprietary spool size. Dremel charges half again as much for filament that is no better than the generic. You can save spools and back wind onto them, but it's still extra work. And now to the modern update. Simply put there are newer better machines from competitors that do everything this one does. And they are at a fraction of the cost.
