Classic gaming mouse for business use
By Jeff on Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2021
You have probably already read how great of a gaming mouse this is. Like others, I used it in the 2000s as my main gaming mouse. It's really a nice mouse. But, these days I work from home and keep having my mice loose tracking on me. I write code for a living, and I don't need much from a mouse. But, I need it to track correctly. Unfortunately, the standard logitech wireless ones I keep buying, keep loosing its tracking. Thing is, I still have my old 518 from 2007 ish. Guess what? It still works. No tracking issues and I put that thing to work on a nightly basis for years. But, the middle mouse doesn't scroll so I needed a new one. So to avoid having to buy another mouse too soon, I decided to get my old standard and pickup the 518. The new design works just fine, but be sure you are right handed. Does anyone use a mouse with their left hand? Not sure, but this mouse was designed to be used with your right hand. Its got the perfect indent for your thumb which is one of the great features. Its a perfect fit. It doesn't have the nice rubber anymore, but that's not a big deal. Its cheaper now so thats fine. Sensitivity buttons above and below the middle mouse button is nice as well. Just tap to change sensitivity as you need. Remember, this thing was made for performance. This is a wired mouse. There is no wireless functionality, so you have to plug it in. This could be good/bad depending on what you need it for. But, just keep in mind, you have to plug the usb into a port. It took a few mins for it to work, surprisingly, but after a few mins it worked fine. We will see if they still use quality parts in this mouse and it lasts a long time. But, I'm feeling good about it so far. Sometimes if you work all day with a mouse, just buy a gaming mouse for quality. The standard cheap ones don't last.

It's not exactly the same shell / mouse
By Nick Egusquiza on Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2021
The new G app is great for re mapping the buttons. Love that. -This is not the same mouse. It's missing the red button indicators. -The mouse is no longer textured in that amazing rubber coating. It's an all plastic design -The wire is much thinner. -The plastic for the shell of the mouse is also thinner and weighs less. -The mouse when connected does not light up. The bottom of the mouse is not that smokey transparent plastic anymore its solid black. You need to really look hard to find the red light. -It's slightly smaller maybe by a few mm or cm but It seems diff. Maybe its not having that grip like before. Good stuff. -It works but you need to download the G app to have the buttons mapped correctly. -You have now full control of your DPi cycles. So you can have 69 - 420 - 1337 - 9999 w/e...You can put 5 and cycle through them with the button. -The finish isn't bad it's just not the rubber coating I was looking forward to. Worth it if you want a nice clean mouse without all the flashy design features. Like 50 buttons and super curved buttons with pointy edges. My old one has lasted more than 15 years & I still have it. The rubber is peeling a bit. I am a logitech fan boy because of this mouse and the ELITE keyboards back in the day. Indestructible products I feel this one was a bit of marketing genius but I am happy with the end result.
