Nice swtich for a resonable price!

My providers router only has 4 ports. I needed more to run through the basement to other rooms. I only needed 4 ports. It is nice knowing I still have 4 left for future proofing. Nice and compact for my use. Speed seems decent and reliable. So far, no issues. Would buy again if needed.

Worked flawlessly for 6 years and then died.

This unit is plug and play. No configuration necessary. It worked great for 6 years without any intervention ever. Then one day it just died and the lights for individual ports did not go on and no network traffic would go through. I unplugged it for a day and it worked again for about a day and died again. I went through the unplug and wait, work again then die cycle about 2 more times then replaced it. I'm guessing they design these things to fail after several years of operation so you have to buy another one. I have an old Cisco switch from the 1990's that still works today, but its only 10 Mbits or I would be using that one. The price was good, but at only 6 years of operation it's more like a rental or a lease.
