A Great Price for an Adapter to Connect a Second Monitor to the iMac 2017 27" Display

Just setup my new 27" 2017 iMac and realized I needed this adapter to utilize a second monitor. I was using a lightning adapter to do the same with my MacBook Air but that adapter would not work with the new iMac USB C outputs. This works perfectly even though I saw most reviews that were using it on the MacBook Pro line. I like having a second monitor display and am still finding different ways to utilize it for the many different applications that I use such as Photoshop, Lightroom and iMovie, etc.

Not compatible with Apple adapter; buy a different brand!

This adapter only works with my monitor when it's directly connected to my 2017 MacBook Pro. It does not work when I use the USB-C port on an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (that has HDMI instead of VGA) as an intermediate connection. I did get this to work when I used a Lention VGA USB-C adapter, so I can only assume that this adapter is simply inferior quality. In order to use it at all, I am forced to move my power supply onto the USB-C port of my Apple adapter, which is less efficient. I suggest buying Lention (which I know works) or another reliable brand instead!
