internet security

You just have to have something. I have used Norton and Mcafee both. Norton sucks you in, then notifies you, that you have issues, and for more money you can have this all taken care of. Always for the remainder of your subscription. They put fear into you, so you will just have to have what they are selling. What a racket. Oh if we could all go without all of this. Money , Money, More Money. Then you have to get the 3 reporting agencies involved, because you have been hacked.

HIJACKS my operating system. Defeat the auto-renewal !
By Steven F. on Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2024
Twice a day, Norton brings my operating system to a near stop for a couple minutes, then my o/s runs extremely slow for maybe 20 minutes. I speak of the Norton version that I purchased Jan 2024. I do not have that problem with the FREE Avast anti-virus on my laptop. Want to quickly check the weather or social media in the morning? Will not happen with Norton lurking on the operating system. . I have bought Norton several years in a row. Each time, I wait a day and successfully turn OFF the expensive Auto-renewal. Also, I purchased through Amazon, not through Norton. My credit card on file with NORTON has expired, but I was NOT forced to update my credit card info on file with Norton. ***REVISION***: The following year, I purchased the 2025 Standard Protection, and the 2025 release that I now have running operates much FASTER (through the first 30 days, anyway.)
