Not what you pay for

I needed a new anti-virus software package as my old one was being discontinued at the time. Not a fan of Norton in the past, but thought I'd give it a try again as years have passed and maybe they improved it. Reviews were somewhat decent again. Paid for a "complete" premium package, but they kept saying I owed them more money for this subscription and that one. So basically put more money ($100s) in to make sure I had VPN, virus, updater, etc which should have already been included but they kept saying it was a separate add-on. Additionally, they charged for an auto renewal even though i canceled the auto renewal and it has been a bear to try to find someone to reverse the charge or at least stop from happening again. The software also has tons of pop-ups and advertisements no matter how many times I turn it off and lots of duplication issues when web browsing. It slows the machine down and in reality didn't really do anything to clean up. I ended up doing my own manual disk cleanup, defraging, and searches to update drivers and such. It is a fraud software system and customer service is terrible if nearly non-existent. There's never a real human, and the automated options are not specific enough to help. If lucky to get a live one, that person speaks English that is difficult to be understood through a heavy foreign accent. Not very supportive in my opinion to pay for someone across seas who has English marked as a second language, but can't be understood nor understand your conversation or concerns in return because speaking and understanding what the word means are two different things. I would never want to support this company again. Unfortunately, I found my old software revived again for the new year and after purchasing found out it was bought out by Norton. So, I'll be looking for new one again soon. Please put your money into something else and stop supporting companies that don't really support it's clients or takes advantage of them.
