Taking advantage of my internet plan

I have Spectrum internet and have been using an older Netgear modem that was netting me about 120mbps. Recently Spectrum bumped standard speed to 300mbps so I decided to upgrade the modem. I was up and running within 30min. I didn't have to call in to register my modem, the system recognized the new modem, I logged into my account and plugged in the new mac address and I was online. I'm now getting the full benefit of my plan. The refurbished modern was is perfect condition and saved me a chunk of money. Packaging could have been a bit better or at least taped closed, but everything was in the box and delivered with care. Overall great deal.

Highly do NOT recommend

The modem, which is supposed to handle up to 300 mbps, would not go over 100. I had my ISP out several times, they ran so many test and narrowed it down to the modem. I then called netgear for support and they ran a ton of tests also, mostly all the same ones, and finally agreed it was their modem. They were going to send a replacement and then I would return mine, but i had to pay the shipping (mind you, this was defective from day 1 and i only had it for 2 weeks at this point). After a couple weeks of not receiving the replacement i got another email from them, stating I had to send them the defective one first? Say what?? This would leave me without WiFi, my high school senior without the access to the internet to take her AP EXAMS? How does this make sense?? Not to mention, netgear is impossible to get ahold of...pandemic aside, they have very few options to contact them and it is a HUGE pita! I do not recommend them. Their customer service and tech support, along with their return policy, are the reasons my next modem will be a Motorola.
