"Rare" USB 2.0 powered hub, great for simple peripherals and reduced interference
By whatever on Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2025
I bought this USB 2.0 hub because my previous USB 3.0 hub faced interference issues with my 2.4 Ghz devices. This is an inherent issue with USB 3.0 because of the signaling, although certainly some hubs may perform better than others in this area. On my PC, all my devices that do not need USB 3.0 bandwidth including 2.4 Ghz dongles are connected to this hub. That includes my mouse, gaming headset, and the old Xbox wireless adapter for Windows. So far it seems to have resolved my issues with interference entirely. Then, I connect anything that absolutely requires USB 3.0 directly to my motherboard. Essentially, just my external WiFi 7 adapter. This hub is extra special because it is a powered hub, and that does deliver a bit of piece of mind since I do want to charge my mouse from this hub. There just aren't many powered USB 2.0-only hubs left on the market, and this is one of them. Yes, the stand does come off, and interestingly, the stand also works horizontally. The stand is also kind of stupid because this device is quite tiny. I also appreciate how this device has ports on opposite sides so that you don't put wireless dongles really close to each other. I'm not sure that really matters but I do appreciate the peace of mind. The only negatives of this device are: - Bright red LED that seems unnecessarily bright. But hey, I guess you know it's on. - Somewhat large power brick if you ask me.

Badly design, but functional.
By Dalcazar on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2024
The image of this little piece of equipment is somewhat misleading. You have 7 ports, five of which are on the BACK, and 2 of which are on the front. The power cable is barely long enough to reach the floor from the height of your standard sit-down desk, and the USB cord to connect to the computer is the same length. The USB in side of the tower is USB 2 type B, aka a square jack. When sat on a desk and plugging into something on the floor, the whole tower is tilted back by the weight of the cables in the back. Not a bad product, but you may struggle to fit this into your setup.
