Well worth not giving up by a limited knowledge user.

I read many hundreds of reviews, questions, plus web searches on more than five major brands. Today after endless hours I was advised by an engineer in tech service to return the printer. Canon recommended android application does not recognize the LBP226dw. Canon told me the application suggested elsewhere was just for drivers. Not so. That the business application was correct. Not so. One second level Canon technician finally figured out the printer is okay but no drivers installed on PC. I am left with being able to print from PC but not mobile phone. 03/09/21 I feel 5 stars is well earned from the original 3. Nothing has ever been as reliable, faster, and now, easy to use. I am now able to print from, PC, Tablet and Mobile Phone. I have two loaded Android printing applications. Canon and Mopria. Update 06/18/24. If still available this is a workhorse printer, It is very fast and the toner lasts for a long time. Perfect printing and never one single problem. Maybe one paper jam or less a year and easily rectified. Good size paper tray. Modest footprint. You hear the printing but of no consequence here. My use has been. modest or perhaps 25,000 prints?

Not user friendly

We bought this printer for our small office, paying a higher price initially, with the expectation that less costly ink requirements would give us better value in the long run. It prints just fine for standard 8.5 x 11 sheets single sided. For other printing needs, this printer has been difficult and unnecessarily complicated to use. Set up was a challenge for each and every computer; we do require ethernet, which is unusual these days but this printer is supposed to work with ethernet or wifi. The manual feed is difficult to impossible. We finally just put our letterhead and checks in the standard paper drawer and use a different printer in our office for envelopes or legal size. Two sided doesn't print according to document instructions, you have to change the settings in the printer too. User manual is also hard to understand. All in all a disappointment.
