Great Keyboard
By Sarah karevy on Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2024
It finally came time to say goodbye to my Corsair mechanical keyboard. The ICUE software that Corsair products require is absolutely junk. I HAD to have the software running for my headset to work with Discord, but running the software kept randomly disconnecting my keyboard, rendering it useless despite hours of troubleshooting. I know and love Redragon and I'm on a tight budget right now. I got lucky and the Shiva keyboard was on sale, so I snagged one up. I have no regrets in buying this keyboard. Quality: the keyboard it's not too heavy, but feels pretty sturdy. The cord is braided and feels tough. Sound: very quiet for being a gaming keyboard. It's sound is pleasing and not deafening for those I'm in discord with. Feedback/feel: the keys feel smooth, but also give a little feedback that feels similar to a mechanical keyboard. The responsiveness of the key presses is lightning fast. Appearance: this is a nice keyboard to look at. The RGB lights are easy to adjust to your liking and the instruction manual gives clear instructions on how to do it. The magnetic wrist rest is also nice and visually appealing. Overall impression: I am quite pleased with this purchase. It's not too big or too small. Fits nicely on my desk and looks good. This keyboard is used for work and gaming and does great for both. I have been using Redragon products for years. I have owned an Impact M908 MMO mouse for several years and it's quality, comfort and affordability are great. I added the Anvil GS520 speakers to my setup about a year ago, and their sound quality are pretty good for the price point not to mention super easy to use and nice looking on my desk.

Lasted a year until...

I've been using this board for one year. It has held up okay with some creeping & escalating issues. The keys have a decent travel if you like that. They have somewhat of what one might refer to as; comically bouncy aftertouch. Across the board, IMO, the keycaps are loose and mushy, no true mechanical joy here. The RGB is just okay, more of an irrelevant gimmick. For myself, best used with a dimmed static pale color for dark room access only. The programmable and media keys function as intended with some quirky setup methodology in the utility. This is a big one for me: The 'G6' macro key is located way too close to left Ctrl; I inadvertently slice-actuate it with my sasquatch lugs constantly. I've had to disable G5 & G6 in the utility. Lastly, one year in: The spacebar now makes a terrible and irritatingly noisy "Boiiiiiing" cartoon-like spring switch sound when actuated/released. Imagine your door stop spring (at the baseboard) and your cat on caffeine have a slap fight. 95% of spacebar actuations create this wicked noise. Additionally, several other keys on the board have become much looser, and sloppier than when new. It's a bargain board, 'nuf said...
