Beautiful!

I’ve only had this keyboard for a day, but so far I love it. In my video I show the various patterns and responsive backlighting settings - in all honesty when I’m actually using it I’ll probably just use constant backlighting since I primarily use it to play games at night and need to be able to see the keys. On the dimmest setting (still plenty bright) I was able to play a keyboard-intensive game for four hours last night and it appeared to still have plenty of juice, so I’m pretty pleased with the battery life so far, though I do I plug my keyboards in to charge whenever I’m not using them. Some of the keys are super sensitive - just touching them is enough to trigger them, but that’s fine for gaming. The keyboard is pretty heavy compared to other wireless keyboards I’ve used; I don’t know if that speaks to the quality of the parts but it seemed worth mentioning. Range of the Bluetooth signal seems great, I’m able to sit about 15 ft from the wall I project onto with no discernible delays. My only complaint is that volume control on the keyboard requires that you press both the function key and then the volume key - I prefer a more accessible volume control - but it’s not a big deal. Also I’m sure I could program the macro keys to control volume directly, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. If I remember, I’ll update the review after I’ve used the keyboard for a while to comment more on battery life.

Better alternatives for the price point. Not modder-friendly. Poor quality control.

TLDR: At $80 there are better wireless alternatives that come with non-restrictive hot-swappable switches (this requies Outemu-brand switches, other switches can work only with modification to the actual metallic pins). This is wireless via a 2.4ghz dongle only, whereas most keyboards at this price-point are bluetooth-enabled. The construction, while heavy and nice, is primarily plastic, unlike most metal-builds at this price point. If I knew then what I know now, I would've purchased a Keychron keyboard instead. Long Summary: I received this keyboard without the F1 key-cap straight out of the box, brand new. Contacted the seller, they don't provide individual keys. Contacted Amazon, they resolved my issue with a refund. After reviewing other reviews, some people were able to get replacement keys, this was not the case for me. However, quality control issues seems to be a recurring theme. That being said, I decided to play around with this keyboard to see if it was any good. Here are the take-aways: Pros: - Wireless mechanical keyboard (uses a USB-A 2.4ghz dongle, so might not work for all people) - Per-key LED backlight - USB-C input - Comes with a sample of switches (2 red, blue, brown, and black) - Accepts standard cherry-style keycaps Cons: - Extremely poor implementation of hot-swappable switches. The hot-swapping feature is basically garbage. 1) Over 70-percent of switches were stuck in the board. If you look closely at the pics, the lock-tabs on the included red switches aren't clipped in properly, indicating poor fitment. This resulted in breaking 10+ switches on removal, which doesn't bode well if you plan on switching back to the original switches. 2) Uses Outemu Switches - Cheaper switch out the box, also more difficult to find (which ends up often costing more than gateron and other switches which are pretty easy to find) 3) Inconsistent key-travel-actuation - Could be related to switches not fitting in properly from the box, but I would have lots of accidental key-presses from simply resting my hand on the keyboard. - Media keys at top right (back, play/pause, forward) are red LED lights only, which is somewhat distracting if other keys are set to different lighting - Keycap Puller - Kind of chunky and tight, doesn't fit well in into some keyboard gaps. Scratches keycaps
