Easy setup and good coverage for two story house
By KC on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2020
I needed to upgrade the WiFi system for my parent's house, it is a two story house. I didn't want to go through the attic to run the cable on a two story house , so this is why I decide to use MESH system. I didn't need to worry about the speed reduce by half when I do the bridge. After doing many researches, I decide to go with Asus ZenWiFi because I have used other Asus products, and their product and customer services were great. Pros: 1. Easy to setup when you are using mobile APP, and easy to see the status on the APP. 2. All the smart devices and security camera are getting good signal and very good coverage for the whole house include back yard and garage. 3. Each node have their own LAN port, so I can connect to different devices through wired. 4. Lifetime AIProdection Pro and parent control option available. 5. The WiFi speed is really good compare to my UBNT UniFi AP and Cisco AP. Cons: 1. The price is a little bit higher compare to a few brands, but still worth it. 2. Not good angle for power connector. Overall, it is really good MESH system and easy to setup after two weeks of testing. My parents are happy with the upgrade, and I was happy i didn't need to go up to the attic to run the wires!

Worst Customer Service Experience Ever!
By scott peterman on Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2021
This product worked great for approximately nine months, extending my wifi throughout my entire apartment and allowing me to make full use of my FIOS gigabit connection. Was VERY happy with one node hardwired to my router and a second node hardwired to my desktop - so nice to have excellent connection speeds without ripping up my walls to install Cat5. Then, come about July of this year, the node started to lose it's ability to connect to the main router EVERY time I upload files for more than about 5 minutes. I'm a director with my editor sitting out COVID in Portugal. It's a DISASTER if an all night upload fails. And the mesh system doesn't fail gracefully - if the node loses contact with the main router, the desktop hardwired to the node switches over to wifi - but to wifi CONNECTED TO THAT NODE. The ONLY WAY to force it to connect to the master is to literally TURN OFF THE NODE. This is patently absurd and has caused us to to lose work. I've been forced to work out of my foyer for the past three months just to be able to do my job. And my god, how terrible Asus' product support is. Rude, unresponsive, constantly asking for me to send logs, which I have sent them countless times. No solutions, no help, no ability to reach people on the phone, just a constant string of almost unintelligibly written emails arriving in the middle of the night asking for more logs. I've sent you all the logs. I've sent you videos of the system failing and screencaps of the app. This is a defective unit covered by warranty - it shouldn't be rocket science. I have an ASUS motherboard, ASUS ram, and ASUS laptop and 3x ASUS gaming monitors. I will never buy another ASUS product after this experience. The runaround you've given me on replacing a single defective unit has cost you a lifetime customer. Hello NetGear, goodbye the 600$ I spent on this pos.
