Best price to quality ratio I could find
By NATHAN HALL on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2021
Spent quite a bit of time searching for the highest quality, most reliable monitor for many hours of text-heavy work and high-end gaming below $300. Tried a couple others (Acer EI272UR was sent back, Dell S2721HGF was kept by girlfriend) and this was the clear winner for me. I really wanted a curved panel as I do think it helps a bit with eye strain on the periphery, but it seems like IPS on a 27" curved doesn't exist exist. The Acer's VA panel just felt harsher and cheaper, and while the Dell felt like higher quality the lower 1080p resolution was too noticeable on text. I was worried this HP would look too cheesy and "gamer"-y but now I like the accents on the bottom. Comes with a really good stand, I switched out for a VESA wall mount but will probably hang onto it for the future. This is less known than a lot of more hyped monitors that got reviewed in rtings, Tom's hardware etc, and for some reason some people think HP = lower quality, but that's not been my experience at all. Got scared away from cheaper Gigabyte and Monoprice options by all the reports of dead pixels and multiple returns to get a good panel, seems the HP quality control is better from the reviews I found and personal experience. At $290 I'm quite happy with it, seems to work fine with G-Sync as well though I've only tried it with FFXV on my AW GTX 1070 laptop. I like a monitor that can go to very soft/low brightness settings to reduce eye fatigue, I feel like it does that very well and also looks awesome for high res/high fps gaming as well. Some noticeable backlight bleed in very dark scenes, but that's a tradeoff I can live with

READ FOR XBOX SERIES X / S - DOES NOT WORK OVER HDMI
By Riley Taylor on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2021
This monitor DOES NOT support 1440p/120hz over HDMI. I repeat IT DOES NOT.I bought an Xbox Series S hoping to use this monitor with it. You are STUCK at either 1080p/120hz or 1440p/60hz. There are a lot of monitors having this same issue, but here is the catch.I hooked this monitor up to my laptop and had the SAME issue. Even on an HP Spectre x360 laptop, I was stuck with either 1080p/120hz or 1440/60hz. Even if you went into Display Settings, you could not change it. Everytime this monitor turns on with HDMI connected, the on screen display is ALWAYS as 60hz. I contacted HP support and they could not help at all.I think this monitor will support 1440p/120hz over DISPLAY PORT, but unfortunately, consoles don't use DP and they don't provide one in the box. This is a beautiful, clean, heavy monitor BUT DOES NOT work over HDMI as promised.
