I have not yet formed an opinion on this item. I don’t know the firmware is upgradeable, so I don’t know how long it is going to last.

UPDATE: the display port cuts in and out all the time, so I don't/can't use it. Otherwise...plugged in and works, so can't complain about that. For the price compared to all the other T3 docks out there, you simply can't go wrong, especially when you consider the features versus the other T3 docks. It's baffling other companies offer a T3 dock but with downgraded ports--that is, USB 2.0/3.0 ports and UHS-I SD reader, etc. Other companies weirdly position ports like sd reader in the back rather than the front, etc. This Amazon Basics T3 dock actually has USB-A 3.2 ports, USB C 3.2 port, SD4.0 UHS-II slots, etc, and they are positioned where they make sense for use. The only nit is that mine came with only a DP1.4 port and I would have liked both a DP1.4 and HDMI port and a 2.5GbE instead of gigabit ethernet, but I can live without those. I would also have liked at least 65W host charging, especially considering the 120W large brick that comes with the dock. The included user manual is useless, and did not match the model (B086H3FMPZ) I ordered and received. At least the correct version is downloadable on this site. Realistically you don't need the user manual anyway, because there's nothing to really instruct since it is all plug and play. The tech data on the manual is really the only useful information. I have not experienced any excessive heat. Yes, it gets warm if you are maxing its capabilities on all the ports. Although I don't see having to do it, I found it interesting that there is a user replacable fuse (read the manual).
