Worth the money but has it's limitations. Read the full review.

I received my Wansview 1080P 101 Webcam with Microphone, Plug and Play, USB 2.0 on 1/14/21 I had previously tried the Wansview 1080P 102 Webcam without much luck as there were bugs and the plug and play did not work on either my windows 8.1 or window 10 computer. After several emails back and forth to China I decided to buy the 101 and review it The product was received 2 days after ordering, well packaged and with no apparent damage. The box contained the camera and a small instruction sheet which requires one use a magnifying glass. No QR code to provide addition instruction or easier an easier to read PDF file. I plugged the camera into my HP Window 8.1 pro, Intel® I5-5200U 2.2 GHz 64 bit Laptop USB 2 port, and the software appeared to load but the camera did not come up. Nothing showed up in device manager or under imaging devices? So I tried it again. Turns out it did load but it’s not that easy on 8.1 to switch cameras after trying it with GoToMeeting I got it to work. Still not easy to switch between the laptop built in camera and the 101. But it does work fine. One major issue it the camera clip it is not very adjustable. You can’t pan up much at all so not good. When mounted on the laptop screen it is very distracting. The camera can not rotate on the clip either. Adding standard thread camera tripod screw mount would help and then it could be mounted to a tripod to allow better positioning and height elevation. I managed to mount the camera on a file rack to get it up and off my laptop screen. See pictures. That said how much can you expect from a $28.00 US camera. Be aware this company is located in China and because of the time difference it takes at lease 12-15 hours for a response from their technical support group. That’s not too bad. I would say if all your looking for is an inexpensive HD camera with a microphone. Give it a go.

OK webcam - thought it'd be better
By Sierrawine on Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2020
Back to the office so I bought this webcam because when I open my docked laptop one of my two external monitors shuts off and, frankly, I'm too lazy to figure out how to fix that and to figure out how to have the laptop camera somewhat centered on me but in a way that I can still see the external monitors without having them really high so the laptop can be open all of the way so the camera can point at me. blah, blah, blah. Sturdiness/Security on Monitor This works well for the top of my monitor - it's not super secure, however. I do move my monitor up and down at times on a monitor arm and it's only fallen off once. If you move yours a lot or a child or pet jostles your desk/monitor regularly, this might be an issue for you. The red "on" light I have a love-hate thing with the red light on the camera. Love that it's very reliable - if the red light is on, that means the camera is ON. In Google Meet, if you click the camera off, the red light goes off for extra confidence that nobody can see you. But the red light gives me a slight red/orange/pink tinge and I don't need any more brassiness to my hair than I have, haha, and it makes my skin look a little fakey pink. And it gives a pretty decent glare on my glasses, so that's a bummer, too, but I'm sure any camera with a light will do that. I might try to put a piece of blue painter's tape over it so that I can see it's on but it won't cast a red aura. (Hoping that won't make me look purple!) Picture Quality I'm kind of shocked by how poor the quality of the picture is if it's more than a little box on the screen. But this likely also has to do with the connection and the fact that my monitor is high-def and 27" so maybe any webcam would look pretty grainy on it? It's fine when you're a little box in a Google Meet meeting but if it's full-screen you look pretty fuzzy. You don't look any different than others, who may have a 320 camera. Makes no difference when in a big meeting and I'm only commenting because others were so positive about how much better their camera was with this. Microphone works! I don't use the speaker, but I was in a couple of meetings where people were saying it hard it was to hear me (likely related to my connection, though it was fine for the week leading up to these comments, and it's also weird because I was at work with a high-speed, cabled connection). I had a big meeting I was the main presenter at and I was a little panicked that people would have a hard time hearing me so I enabled the microphone on this and everyone said it was very easy to hear me. It's been fine since (a few weeks), but today someone said I was cutting in and out as before, so I'm guessing it's connection. (And I shouldn't have panicked, because I could have just used my phone for speaker!) Would I buy this again or recommend it? Eh - not sure. It's OK, but it didn't blow me away, either, and I sort of expected that based on other reviews. My workplace uses Google Meet so maybe that has something to do with it, but even just using the "camera" function on my computer looks the same. In fairness, my super-fancy home computer (with a built-in webcam) is also is pretty grainy and it's a 34" high-def monitor. Maybe my monitors are too choosy for the ability of webcams and my guess is that's OK so that the bandwidth can accommodate all of the people/speakers/monitors, etc.! My guess is you could find something similar for less expense? But if you want something super easy to install and use, this may be your ticket. I just plugged it into the USB port. I had to DISABLE my laptop camera and microphone to override them and use this, so be aware of that. Other than that, it worked right away, no driver or other software to install.
