Versatile, Strong, and Powerful

Screen is great. 1080P is all you need in a laptop, and the 300hz is a nice touch. Laptop turns off the 2080S while not in use which quadruples battery life. At 70% my battery was showing ~8 hours of runtime. But if you want to torture the battery, the laptop lets you. You can pretty much get the plugged in experience on battery so long as you're okay with an hour and a half of battery life. Build quality is actually insane. This thing feels like a tank. The fans are quiet all the time and aren't too loud at load. They do a wonderful job at cooling the processors. And if you don't mind the extra noise or have some good headphones, you can put the fans on full blast and they do a very good job at making the thermals look like you're on a PC. The trackpad is very nice and moves well but I do have some issues here and there with it registering clicks. The steelseries keyboard is fantastic to use and the software is very easy. I was able to setup some nice profiles and link them to my games easily. Similar story with MSI's DragonCenter. It's a nice utility for monitoring the temps and whatnot (though you should install OHM) and it also has profiles that can help optimize the laptop for your current use case. I keep mine on super battery most of the time and switch it to balanced or extreme performance if I'm putting a load or playing a game.Only con imo is the speakers. They could be better, but you can get buy with them.Pro Tip: NVIDIA has screwed with newer versions of their drivers so that the laptop does not correctly switch between the integrated graphics and the 2080S. To fix this, you must install the driver from MSI's website. It's outdated, yes, but I don't notice any performance issues and they're a must if you plan on having the laptop last for more than one hour. The newer drivers will not work correctly.

Not sure what is going but I’ve only had it fit two years and it constantly overheats to the point of shutting down. I run lumion revit and both together is a killer for the laptop.
