Netgear Nighthawk 8-Stream WiFi 6 Router

I absolutely love this Netgear router. It's my third one in more than 10 years. So fast! The problem is there is a bug in the firmware (which they haven't updated in more than a year). The bug will not let you access the router settings unless you register your account. Some people are up in arms about privacy. I couldn't care less. The problem is that when you try to log into your account, it tells you that there was a problem and to try again. Needless to say, that goes on endlessly, and you can't set up the router. I fought with it for more than 12 hours and got nowhere. I finally started reading their forum and lo and behold almost every message was about the bug. After a year, you would think they would fix it. They did offer one answer on how to get around it - you have to disconnect your modem from the router, and you can get to the settings. Do you know how many settings require you to be on the Internet when setting the settings? A lot! So, you are unable to do a full setup. None of my previous Netgear routers had this problem. I do not recommend buying any Netgear router that uses the 1.1.4.28 firmware. As for me, this is the last Netgear product I will buy. A bug like that should have been fixed within a few days.
