Well built.

Excellent product. It is well built and comes with extra ties for cable management. I've had this for almost 3 years now without a single issue. Quality: Asus, at least in my experience, has always made good quality items across multiple categories. This power supply is in a computer with all other Asus TUF series components. This is being used with a TUF 3070 and there are no issues.

God help you if it fails, because Asus won't....

I have sworn by Asus components for years, particularly motherboards. So, when it came time to build a new system that I wanted to last, I went with an Asus motherboard, video card, and this(ASUS ROG Thor 850 Certified 850W Fully-Modular RGB Power Supply with LiveDash OLED Panel) power supply. It ran well for about 4 months, and this morning it just didn't power up. Pulled the PSU, and it's just dead. That happens, usually not with higher quality units, but it does happen. So, I then called the "Support" number. Not only was it a struggle to communicate because of the quality of the line going to the service center, but I was then told I would have to get in touch with the "Repair" division. I was transferred, but had to drop after 33 minutes of being on hold. I called back, waited 38 minutes, and had to drop again. I called, again, and this time waited for 48 minutes, only to be hung up on before I was even able to say a word. I cannot clearly convey how disappointed I am in Asus support. This power supply is for my primary machine, and I work from home. Now I can't rely on quick efficient service, a simple Amazon like return, I have to waste hours and hours, simply to find out how they will take care of the issue. At this point and time, I have reached out to Amazon, and it only took them about 2 minutes to offer me a partial refund, and sadly, I'm seriously considering it... Two Week Update: So, decided to give Asus a chance to make this right. Well, I tried to give them the chance. First off, I had to pay for shipping to have them "repair" the psu. They did send me a "recertified" psu, so they didn't try and repair mine, thankfully, but the psu they sent was DOA. They had sent the paperwork stating that they had replaced my psu with a repaired comparable model. Well, if they had tested it in any way shape or form, they would have noticed that it was a brick. So, after talking with a supervisor, Asus will be sending a new unit, not a refurb, but the wait is 10-14 days. So, we'll see. I have to say, dealing with their RMA system has made me even more disappointed. I can't recommend purchasing this psu, and that saddens me greatly. UPDATE: 6/12/23 I still have not received a replacement. I called again tonight and was told that they still do not have any stock to pull from and that they will be escalating my request manually. I have no idea what that means, unless they are going to run from the call center to the manufacturing plant to snatch one for me... which, oddly, I find not likely. I am supposed to get a message in 24-48 hours with an update on when they will be getting the new PSU to me. I hate taking a $200 bath, but I'm thinking that I just abandon all hope of Asus actually standing behind their products and just buy another platinum rated psu... I do know now that I will never buy from them again.
